First the service was phenomenal from the hostess to our server Marion. They were so friendly and very helpful. We started with the warm pimento cheese appetizer and I had Tortellini in a vodka sauce and my husband had the wedge salad and seared salmon in a balsamic glaze. The food was out of this world amazing and we can’t wait to go back. I highly recommend trying this out.

We stayed at Callaway this weekend leading into Monday. Sunday night we chose to eat on property at the Piedmont Dining Room. It sounds like a Cafeteria but it was better than that. I got the Ribeye, medium rare, of course. My wife ordered the Airline Chicken. Both dishes were delicious. Well seasoned… sides were as well… Our service was fast and friendly. I would do it again.

Two day stay at The Lodge at Callaway Gardens. My wife and I enjoyed Coastal Seafood night last Friday- had reservation but there was plenty of seating. Dinner was buffet style all-you-can-eat. Food and service was great! A little pricey but considering all you can eat shrimp, crab legs, salad, beef, chicken, pork tenderloins, green beans, slaw, potatoes, dessert bar – not bad. Also had a station for made to order shrimp and grits.Good sweet tea by the way.

Next morning — we came for the breakfast bar – all the usual items including a station for made to order omelettes. Again food and service were great!

Marion was really great. Although they ran out so many options due to being super busy Marion made sure that I had the best meal that was left and she was super busy going table to table and I still didn’t feel as though I did a long wait. I look forward to seeing her great personality once I return. She deserves a raise and much more. Because of her I will return.

Our group consisted of three sisters celebrating a milestone birthday which I mentioned in the reservation. When we arrived at the table there was a birthday card waiting for my sister which was a very nice touch. The service throughout the evening was impeccable, Misty was attentive without being overwhelming. The food was delicious. Our entrees were the ribeye, trout and tortellini with shrimp. Everything was cooked perfectly and the sides were tasty as well.

Went to Piedmont dining room for Thanksgiving buffet -reservation for two. Very disappointing. Turkey was COLD and rubbery, gravy was also cold. They said someone forgot to turn on warmer??? Green bean casserole good. Dressing fine but went back for more and that batch undercooked. Salmon was good at least but not the food of choice for Thanksgiving. Also, no mashed potatoes. Shocking! Mediocre desserts couldn’t save the day. So sad! Beautiful ice carving and excellent service (although bill had to be corrected). What could’ve been! Ugh!

From the time we arrived, we were immediately seated in a nice window seat. The waitress came right over. Her service was excellent and our food was fantastic. We really enjoyed our evening. Thank you for making it a great date!

Thanksgiving disappointment. My parents and I used to frequent Callaway’s Thanksgiving Buffet years ago when it was still in the “old” inn. That food and service was always superb, so when my family decided to skip cooking this year and head to Callaway, I was expecting 5 star service and food, especially for $75 per person.
For $75 a person, they couldn’t even be bothered to put water glasses on the table or to bring us our drinks. Some guests had glassware to drink out of, but others, us included, had plastic cups to drink out of, like we were dining at a fast food restaurant.
My husband asked for salt and pepper as there was none on the tables. There was a small shaker of each at the buffet. He brought them to the table, only to be harassed by the “server” who said she had to return them to the buffet table. Salt and pepper shakers can be purchased on Amazon for about $2.50 a set. Surely Callaway Gardens can afford that!!!
The food itself was flavorless slop that looked a lot like what you would find in an 80’s era elementary school cafeteria. The dressing had a brown/overcooked top layer and the cranberry sauce was pure liquid. The sweet potatoes were the consistency of apple sauce with no flavor. My favorite thing from the entire meal was the Caesar salad. My husband’s favorite…TATOR TOTS.
Oh, and also, after they tacked on a “banquet fee” the meal was $100/person. We go out to nice restaurants frequently, and have no issues with paying for quality meals, but this was not even remotely up to the Callaway standard.

Servers were wonderful, attentive and went above and beyond for our group. The salmon and asparagus were cooked very well, but seriously underseasoned. I am not sure why there was a cold, and undercooked, orzo salad under the salmon on a hot plate. The breakfast buffet was absolutely lovely with plenty of options.

I ate at the Piedmont tonight and I have to say, I was served probably the absolute worst chicken dish I have ever eaten in my life. I am 52 years old and I’m a military veteran and I have been all over the world. Hands down the absolute worst chicken dish I’ve ever eaten. I had the smothered rosemary and garlic chicken and it had NO seasoning on it at all. My daughter and I both had it and neither of us finished it. We even let some of our friends at the table try it and there response was, on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the best, what would you rate it? Everyone who tried it said a 1. With tip I spent $100 on a horrible meal. The buffet food was terrific from what I understand. Everything that my family ordered off of the menu was flavorless and disappointing.
