My boyfriend and I do weekly date nights on Thursday night, and tonight we tried this restaurant for the first time. We LOVED this place. The atmosphere was great with fun music at a perfect volume and festive holiday decorations. I am not an expert in mexican food, but the food was phenomenal. We split the mexican street corn and the pico & guac flight with regular pico de gallo, chili and lime guacamole, and candied bacon guacamole. We separately ordered the chicken tinga tostadas and the street tacos (two with brisket and one with steak). Every single item was insanely delicious, even down to the house made corn chips and strawberry lemonade. Our waitress was very sweet, accommodating, and attentive. We will be marking this spot as one of our favorite Mexican restaurants and we can’t wait to be back. Do not skip this restaurant!

2 faces, 2 restaurant. Classic american by day and mexican by night. I’m not an expert with mexican kitchen, but i really enjoyed the food. It was tasty, light and delicious. The only point would have been to have some bread with the shrimp appetizer to eat with the delicious sauce. Service was done by the boss. And not too many guests so all good and not too noisy. One of my fav places in Madison.

Not the experience I thought I would get after reading all the reviews. The chicken mango Chile pico was burnt and the rice tasted like a minute microwave bag, the chicken tinga nachos were dry, and the chicken tortilla soup had zero flavor. The mango jalapeño guac was great, the portions were large, and the plating was nice. The atmosphere was also very nice in the restaurant. We went in around 10 minutes after opening and there wasn’t a single customer to come in until 630. Not worth the price whatsoever.

Food is excellent! Everything we ordered was top notch. The street tacos were incredible and had a beautiful upscale presentation. The churros are perfection. Will absolutely be back again!

Wanted to try the New Mexican menu and glad we did. The rubbed pork chop was so juicy, one of the best I ever had. Guacamole was fresh and so tasty. Nice atmosphere and the owner is always around to check on everything. Will be back for sure !

What a delicious meal. I started my meal with pico de gallo and guacamole with a side of chips. I also had the chicken tortilla soup. For my dinner I had The grilled salmon with brown rice topped with mango salsa and avocado. Everything was so delicious. I can’t wait go back!

First time visit to Pico & Guac, was fantastic. Big fan of Mexican but tired of the same old menu and food at what seems like every new restaurant but this place sets a new standard. New twists on some of the classics and 3 interesting salsas with fresh chips. Everything fresh and tender. Virgin margaritas were spot on made better by the tequila we brought. Very engaged owner who made the dinner really fun.

The design of the restaurant is so beautiful. The atmosphere is just as amazing for dinner at Pico and Guac as it is for breakfast and lunch at Butter and Jam. Same simple beauty but different vibe – the lights are dimmed and Spanish music plays. The food is fresh and delicious. From Mexican Cesar salad to tacos to the churros, everything was outstanding.

Please do not let the 5 star reviews fool you. The service was good at this place, but the food was the worst food I think I’ve ever eaten at a restaurant.
The salmon tacos were extremely dry with zero flavor and were difficult to eat. My boyfriend got shrimp tacos which were supposed to be grilled but the shrimp look boiled. The chicken tortilla soup had soggy tortillas and hot avocado.
Please go elsewhere in Madison.

We love Butter and Jam, so we couldn’t wait to try Pico and Guac it’s sibling dinner restaurant. Same location whole different night time vibe. It was amazing! We started with the yummy Chicken Tinga Nachos, and we shared the Chicken Mango Chili Pico and the Chicken Mole Poblano for our entrees. Both were just the right amount of spicy and the Pico was bright and fresh tasting while the mole was warm and satisfying! Both entrees came with Mexican brown rice which was very delicious, and we ordered a side of black beans that were really tasty, too. Bill and his staff are always so welcoming and the service was great! So glad we went and we will be back.
