Order from Picnic – Pickup from Chicago’s best restaurants
Reviews
Upon using their customer service support portal – no response that day. No way to contact the place either. Still working on trying to get resolution the following day. Still not resolved.
Once I finally was in touch with support – I was only offered a partial refund. I am still arguing with them at the time this review is written almost 20 hours after this order was placed to try to get a full refund.
Will never order from this place or platform again.
Customer support process is to get help is atrocious. Ordering platform does not give ability to cancel orders. Support is not empowered to give proper resolution.
I try to support a place that tries to serve as an incubator for smaller places via a ghost kitchen.
This horrible experience with the “digital” food shows the gaps in their technologies to provide easy, fast, seemless customer experience to obtain food from smaller restaurants – and this whole ordeal provided none of this.
I waited for my order for over an hour. I had placed it in advance on UberEats so it would be ready for pickup when I arrived. But when I got there, there were a bunch of delivery drivers picking up their orders, and nobody seemed to care about regular customers like me. I waited for a whole hour — no one gave me any updates, no one even spoke to me. And in the end, they just canceled my order. I didn’t get anything after waiting an hour, tired, hungry, and angry after work. Absolutely unacceptable.
The food has always been great. But, the location, not so good.
I’ve always thought that by ordering online, your food would ɓe ready for pick up when you arrive.
The last 2 times we went to pick up our order, there was no one at the counter.
After waiting for 10 minutes, we had to scream hello! Hello! Before someone came from the back.
Of course, our food was ready. It was sitting on a rack behind the counter.
Customer service inside needs to improve.
Nonetheless, its just a bunch of restos that serve you food but prepared what seems to be in one kitchen. Its a massive space saver. And depending on what you order will dictate how long you will wait if you order at the kiosk.
Ordered from Take A Bao Eats their crispy garlic aoli. The textures of the cabbage and cucumbers are nice contrast to the fluffy soft bao, with garlic zing and smokiness from black sesame. However, the crispy chicken was a bit tough and over-fried. Pity cause the rest of the bao was very good. But i will definitely try again since it is so close to Revolution Brewery!!
New favorite spot is Granny dutch pot (Jamaican food). I got the jerk chicken bowl
