I was told that this bar/restaurant was known for having the best burger in the state and visited a friend there. The staff was incredibly polite when I asked for a more private area for our visit. I order their lobster bisque and it was phenomenal. Next, I had the mushroom swiss burger with fries and from the first bite I knew their reputation for the best burger was true. Cooked to perfection. Moist and flavorful without being greasy. Proportional hamburger bun size with some pickles and I was truly impressed with the end result. I simple dish but incredibly good at the same time. French fries were very flavorful and I could tell they were cooked and immediately tossed in seasoning by hand for a light coating that adhered to the fries instead of salt bouncing off after you receive your order at most places. We visited for four hours taking up a table at this smaller establishment and they never once tried to rush us out or ask politely if we were leaving soon. They actually brought us two drinks on the house and thanked us. My friend and I were having a serious and meaningful conversation and I feel like they sensed that and were incredibly respectful. Every aspect of this bar/restaurant exceeded my expectations in every way. Staff. Kindness. Atmosphere. And most importantly, burgers. Wherever you’re at in the region if visiting or just passing by, go out of your way to stop here and support this important local business. You won’t regret it.

There is nothing I could say bad about Pickles Pub. It’s one of my favorite places to eat out in the Northwoods. Great quality food served without any pretentiousness. I have had their burgers, chicken sandwich (it’s massive), wings, almost every appetizer and they have all been too tier. Great restaurant, Justin.

Really wanted to like this place, based on all the positive reviews. The food was just ok & the service, unless if you’re a regular, feels like you’re being ignored. I love all sorts of music (exception to hard core rap) but it’s way too loud, & if it’s crowded, you’re fighting to hear who you’re talking with. We’ve tried it a few times hoping at least once it would be out of this world. The chicken tenders are the best thing we’ve ever eaten there. With so many other choices nearby, I’d skip this one

The four of us had wonderful burgers and super good homemade fries. We would have also tried their homemade potato chips, but the verbiage on the menu, “homemade fries or potato chips” made it sound as though just the fries were homemade (and chips were from a bag). They looked wonderful too. We saw the trophy that the Wisconsin Beef Council awarded Pickles for winning best burger in Wisconsin contest in 2024 (even though it was up on top of the cooler)! We enjoyed our visit. Great place. Great burger! Nice couple own it.

Stopped in to try their famous burger. It is hands down the best burger I’ve had in the northwoods. The burger was cooked perfectly, the bun was soft and fresh and the fries are fantastic.

Amazing bar and staff. The burgers are out of this world, and the staff is fantastic. Id honestly recommend this place to everyone. It’s the best bar in Northern Wi that I’ve been too. Staff are highly professional and a delight to be around.

I recently had lunch at Picked Bar & Grill at 5507 Co Rd Y, in Hazelhurst, WI . I had read that Pickels Pun was just awarded Burger of the year from the WI Beef Council. I had to wait a few minutes to get a seat at the bar but to be expected on a Saturday afternoon. I was served in rotation and when I could I ordered the hamburger and chips. I was overly amazed on the presentation, and the taste of the burger. Both were great. I loved the roasted garlic mayo. A great burger!

Went to Pickles on September 27th. Heard a lot of good things about it, and I wanted to check it out.

At first, things seemed to be good, service wise. My friend and I each ordered a burger. I ordered a cheeseburger medium well, with lettuce, tomato, and mayo. With fries.

Burgers come, and it tasted great. Great flavor. The problem is the burgers weren’t medium well. They were undercooked. Medium at best, medium rare in some spots.

And this is where the service took a dive. After receiving our food, no one came to ask how things were. Not once. The person who took our orders was too busy attending the bar. After we were done, he dropped off our bill and finally asked how things were. I told him the burgers weren’t medium well undercooked and he just said “oh”, and brushed it off. No apologies. No “ok, I’ll let the cook know”. Nothing. Paid and left and will not return.
