Overall this is a solid little sandwich shop. The sandwiches have always been nice and toasted, sides are standard. Seating is quaint and is a nice break from the corporate setting. Staff was quick and professional. Only knock is that prices skew high it seems. A couple of the combos seem to be around 50 cents of savings, I suggest just a sandwich and a side if you desire. It’s a nice change from the usual but wouldn’t be my every day spot.

Some items on the menu are better than others. I’ve gotten sandwiches that were hearty and delicious, and then I’ve gotten tiny wraps like in the picture and they were underwhelming. Overall food is decent, but a little hit or miss. Good for a quick lunch.

First time here – front counter guy with beard and glasses seemed perturbed that we were ordering, let alone dining in, by saying yeah, we are trying to get dishes done but people keep coming in. Mind this is an hour and a half before closing time. Pretty steady flow of customers. Sandwich, potato salad and broccoli cheddar was good! There was an elderly couple who came to dine in while my husband and I were still here (the wife on crutches and the husband with a cane) and they noticed that he was struggling and did nothing. They left his order at the counter when it would’ve been kinder to bring it out to him. Just an observation from someone who’s worked in an environment like this. Plan to be back – hopefully the staff can be kinder.

Amazing little shop! Stopped for lunch with my family after taking my dad to some doctors appointments in Des Moines. I had the #1 with Italian dressing. My husband had the meatball sub. Both of us agree it’s the best sandwich we’ve ever had!
