What an absolute gem of a place right near fishermans wharf. The atmosphere was extremely pleasant, the staff and chef was so incredible. They treat you as if your family as soon as you walk through the door. The food was extremely welo cooked and burst with flavor. The cubano was better than any cubano i had in florida, the pork belly panini was cooked to perfection, and the baked cheese canoli/ziti was simply amazing. If you are smart, you will give the place a try. You wont regret it. I see this place going big places.

Fantastic little place for lunch! We had the calabrese panini and the meatballs with garlic bread. Both were delicious, and the price was fair. We ate out back, outside, listening to the nearby sea lions and enjoying the sun. Highly recommend!

Delicious paninis. We enjoyed eating outside looking over the water. No kids menu which was a bummer but they were willing to make their Margherita pizza look like a cheese pizza for the kiddos. We found parking easily in the lot outside. They were efficient in getting the food ready as well.

Highly recommended Italian sandwich shop on the Monterey pier! Excellent sandwiches made with quality ingredients and authentic flavors. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the place is clean and well kept. There are outdoor tables with an ocean view, perfect for enjoying your sandwich while taking in the sea .

We went here due to the solid reviews and they didn’t disappoint. The food was amazing, delicious, the staff was accommodating and very friendly and the atmosphere inside and outside with the harbor view was beautiful. I especially loved the Pisa (flatbread), I went two days in a row, and they put a special twist on them, and both days were amazing. Love the fresh ingredients and the gluten free or less gluten options. Their clam chowder was also amazing and their sandwiches! Highly recommend!!!

My mom and I fell in love with this place. The owner was at the front door right when you walked in. He explained everything on his menu down to exactly where he gets the meat from and how fresh it is. My favorite is how he explained the mozzarella he uses.You can tell he puts a lot of love and passion into his food and is excited to share it with you. It was more than just eating lunch. He made it a personal experience for my mom and me . My dad is Italian and consistently raves about his family’s cooking The sandwiches and the deli meat was so good. I had to take some home for my father to try. We live three hours away from this restaurant and even after three hours of drive time, the bread itself was so fresh and the sandwich was still so good. My dad took one bite and was about to cry. He said he hadn’t had real prosciutto like that in ages and this reminded him of something his grandmother would’ve made. While eating the owner even walked around to each table to make sure every customer was satisfied with their food. The staff was just as friendly and fast overall it was a wonderful experience and this will definitely be a spot that we continuously go to when we visit Monterey if you want true authentic Italian deli, you must must must try the spot and don’t forget to have a cappuccino. The cappuccino was so good. I ordered two and they were both gone with a matter of minutes. I want to thank everyone at Piccolo for such a fun amazing visit!

Some of the best food we had in the area, and really good gluten free sandwich options ! My boyfriend has a gluten allergy and was able to eat here. They make their gf bread in house so it was some of the best gf bread we’ve had ever. When my boyfriend dropped his phone into this awkward grate between them and their upstairs neighbors, the whole team came out and helped him get it out. Super lovely people and great food

A gem! If you have a gluten sensitivity, you must must must try their gf bread and pizza crust which they make in house! Very very good and feels like non gf bread! It’s not pastor crumbly, or dry! The flour blend uses deglutenized wheat starch so it’s not safe for celiacs.
