Ordered Chicken Fried Steak and they poured crawfish Alfredo sauce on it instead of cream gravy. The steak itself was burn on the ends and was only room temperature.

Makes me sad to see how far they’ve fallen. When I was a kid some of my fondest memories of meals with my family were shared at Piccadilly in Bon Marche mall or the location on Government. That product and presentation was far superior to what the experience at the Essen Lane location is like now. This location is run down, the staff is regularly rude and nothing ever really seems hot on the line. If you are craving cafeteria style dining, I guess they are your choice but you may be better served at one of their other locations.

My husband and I eat here several times a year when we are in town. The food and service never disappoint us. Today, we were pleasantly surprised to see/hear a live musician playing in the dining area. That made our usual pleasant experience fantastic. I hope they keep bringing this guy back.

I’ve eaten at every Piccadilly in Baton Rouge over the years, including the iconic downtown 3rd St., Government st. Bon Marche and Plank Rd. locations, which are now all closed after several decades of serving the community. This particular store on Essen is always consistent and with hot, fresh food and great and pleasant service. I’ve been coming here on and off for a long time whenever I’m in town and hope it stays open.

Food was pretty okay — some of mine was rather cold. The lady at the line did apologize and offer to let me get something different. Felt a bit overpriced for the quality of food (but you get quite a bit for the price in our opinion)! My friend and I enjoyed it nonetheless. Never saw our waitress though.

This is the third time we have eaten here and it was just as bad this time as it was the other two times. the fried catfish wasn’t done and the salad had a bad tomato in it. the hamburger steak had so much salt in it, we couldn’t eat it. the good point was the waitress knew this and she gave us some free desert. She was very nice. we will not come back. 3rd strike! it cost us $32 for two.

Omg! This was a field trip for me. I was in town for a few days and had Piccadilly as a definite visit. Haven’t been in a Piccadilly in probably 20yrs. Most closed up years ago. I was like a kid in a candy shop. It did not disappoint. The menu hasn’t changed at all. They had all my old favorites. This may not be a Michelin 5 Star restaurant, but it’s great comfort food. I’d love to have 1 near me again.
