This cafe is literally my go-to and an absolute must try! I’ve been to so many coffee shops and cafes and have tried plenty of authentic Mexican food, and this place truly has it all! Their coffee and matcha are amazing—not too sweet, just the perfect balance for my preference.

I always order the chilaquiles verdes and their breakfast sandwich—hands down my top two favorite items!! So delicious that I’m constantly craving them. Everything on the menu is also very reasonably priced, which is a huge plus.

The customer service is always on point—so kind, welcoming, and never rushed. There can be a line on weekends/holidays, but it moves quickly and is 100% worth the wait. It’s such a beautiful cafe, and you can really feel the love the owners have put into creating a space that reflects their cultural roots and sense of community.

Great lavender matcha. I had it cold with almond milk, and it didn’t disappoint. I was also hungry and got the breakfast burrito. The burrito on the other hand wasn’t so good. It felt rushed. I hate it when I bite into egg and there’s little pieces of egg shell. The burrito comes with bacon and some bacon piece were definitely undercooked.
The place is tiny but it does offer outdoor seating. Pet friendly. I’ll be back but not ordering the breakfast burrito again.

The vibe feels comforting and safe. They have rotating artwork from local artists. Picaresca makes it inviting, so long as the haters stay out. I recommend the Chilaquiles Enfrijolados.

This was my second time coming here. Some friends recommended this place and I had to come back. The Mexican Mocha was really good, but the breakfast burrito lacked flavor. Friendly staff. Definitely recommend.

I’ve been a fan of Picaresca since 2023, back when they were still on Soto — and ever since, I’ve been completely obsessed.

While I definitely have my go-to favorites, I find myself constantly tempted to try new items off their menu (and they never miss).

My first love was their Café de Olla Latte — a perfect blend of sweet, subtle citrus and bold, comforting flavors that instantly take you back to your Abuelita’s house.
“¿Quieres un cafecito con pan?”

One cup will have you wired for hours, in the best way.

Then came the Evergreen Matcha Latte… and when I say it had a chokehold on me, I mean it.

I needed one at least once a week.
On chilly “sweater weather” days, I was stopping by twice for a hot Evergreen latte.

Now that the sun’s out? I’m fully on the iced version. Just as addictive.

For a filling breakfast, you can’t go wrong with the machaca burrito, the classic breakfast burrito, or the chilaquiles — hearty, flavorful, and made with love.

Pro tip: swing by on weekdays if you can. Weekends get busy.

Got the green and red chilaquiles. Both are delicious full of flavor. If you don’t eat spicy I recommend the green but if you love spicy I highly recommend the red ones they are what you call spicy spicy . I also got my mom an eggs with weenies burrito and she gave it a thumbs up . Very limited parking so you must look for parking in the street but it’s worth it.

This place is great. We got the pino and cafe de olla latte, and tamarindo tonic and all were superb. I personally really enjoyed the pino latte the best. The rosemary flavor is so unique- earthy and refreshing. It kind of reminded me of a mint mojito latte but better. Sometimes the mint can be too strong but the rosemary was much more subtle so I highly recommend. Service was fast and friendly. Only trouble is parking, there’s only a few spots in front of the café, so you’ll likely have to find street parking.

I was really disappointed with this establishment’s customer service. The personnel were rude, and I felt mistreated throughout the interactions. It left me feeling frustrated and uncomfortable. Although this is supposed to be a Latin-inspired establishment in Boyle Heights, the personnel are very selective about who they are friendly towards, judging and discriminating by looks and ethnicity. Be warned if you plan to come here. Chilaquiles are good but if you get it to go you’ll receive a big bowl with only enough chilaquiles to fill the bottom rim of the bowl and nothing more.

This is a little and very popular spot, so be prepared to not get a place to sit. But oh my god is it worth it.

We shared a plate of the chilaqiiles enfrijoladas, oh my lord. Just the right amount of spice, the flavor was incredible, be ready to get a little messy. For lactose peeps, I promise you get it without the cotija and sour cream and it’s just as good.

We also got the Pino latte and Mexican Mocha, both of which slapped. For vegans they have oat and almond milk too.

Cannot wait to come back.

Oh and they have this big cookie things? They’re soft on the inside, we got the Ube one which was delicious.
