My husband and I are visiting and came to this restaurant a few times. To start off, the restaurant is busy. All the times we came with reservations we had to wait awhile. On 1/16/25 we were seated right by the kitchen. Very loud and servers were running in all directions. Not relaxing. There was a line out the door.

I had the angel hair with tomato’s and basil sauce and dinner salad. The salad wasn’t special and I had enough pasta for 4. I couldn’t take the leftovers because we are staying at a hotel. I hate wasting food. My husband had the piccata which came with a side of spaghetti. Again, a lot of food. We skipped dessert and coffee because of the loud atmosphere. We went back to the hotel for a quiet after dinner drink.

If you want a relaxing place to eat, this isn’t the place.

We had such a fantastic experience at Gavi Piazza!

• I ordered the panzerotti, something I hadn’t found in Arizona before, and it was absolutely amazing.
• My son had the pepperoni pizza, which was equally fantastic—the sauce had incredible flavor, the pepperoni was spot-on, and the mozzarella was delicious.

The service was outstanding. Even though the restaurant was packed, we walked up and asked for a three-top, and the staff kindly told us to hold tight—they managed to squeeze us in. It was clear that reservations are probably preferred on weekends, but the team handled the crowd with grace.

Everything—food, drinks, service, and atmosphere—was top-notch. This is one of those locally owned Tucson gems that deserves more recognition. Busy for a reason, and we’ll definitely be back frequently.

Highly recommend Gavi Pizzeria!

Food? Delicious.
Service? Outstanding!
Atmosphere? Way too loud…the acoustics reflect the conversations of every patron in the establishment.
Overall, dinner was delicious and our server, Johnny, provided Outstanding service for my wife and I.

We will be back to you their other dishes. I had the cioppino and my wife had the chicken formation. Both were great. Also had the antipasto board which was ample and had a great variety of meats, olives, cheese and other items on it. We came home with leftovers of all dishes order. They even brought Birthday Gelato for my wife (we were celebrating her birthday).

Great dinner. Great menu (we’ll be back to try other dishes). The martinis were also great.

★★★★★ Outstanding from start to finish

Piazza Gavi delivered an excellent dining experience. I ordered the veal parm, and it was absolutely delicious—perfectly prepared and full of flavor. The wine recommendation from our server was spot-on and paired beautifully with the meal.

What really stood out was the service: attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely warm. Easily some of the best service I’ve had. Highly recommend—this is a place I’ll be returning to.

We had dinner at a different restaurant, but after leaving that restaurant, we wanted to know what else that was in this quaint shopping center. That’s when we noticed Piazza Gavi. We went to the bar for drinks to check out the restaurant. The bartenders were fun and kept up their busy pace. Other people at the bar ordered meals that looked delicious. Since we didn’t eat anything, we’ll be back so I can try their Sole Al Granchio that’s cooked in a butter clam sauce with capers, bell pepper, peas, tomatoes, and topped with with crab meat and scallops and baked with asiago and ricotta cheese.

We sat outside at a table for 6. Plenty of room at the table. The waiter, Johnny, was prompt, professional, informative, and friendly. The menu was vast. There were vegetarian and gluten free options. Our orders were wonderful. The portions were very generous. The desserts were to die for. In our party, there were three Italian citizens, one born and raised there. They approved, as did the other three of us. Overall, a great restaurant experience.

Went with a small group of friends Friday – our first time there. The place was packed to the gills and service was good all things considered (although it did take an abnormal amount of time for the food to come out, but to be expected).

Waiter was perfectly fine, kept checking on us at reasonable intervals.

The food was incredible and the portions very large – a “cup” of the spicy lentil soup could feed 3 – I took the leftover portion home and had it for lunch for 2 days.

The ravioli was great as well and looked/tasted fresh made and not previously frozen – there were 4 on the plate and each almost the size of a baseball.

We live in OV, so it’s about 40 minutes or so, but we’d certainly come back.

Oh, and the Happy Hour drinks are super cheap – Vodka mixed drink was $4.

We celebrated Mother’s Day at lunch and had a great time. Food was good for everyone, although I’ve never seen a cioppino broth like this with so much seafood. Our waiter was great, atmosphere was great! I spilled wine and they swooped in to clean up quickly getting us back on to our meal and conversation, thank you. We’ll be back to try more!

The atmosphere is great, it was a Monday evening and they were busy! Definitely a versatile place, I went with family, but it can easily be a date spot as well. Prices are reasonable due to the portions you get. I had the baked mostaccioli which was good and the vanilla gelato (which was three scoops, if I had known, I would’ve split it) , which was also good. The only knock I’d give the place is that the service was not attentive. Often times we would look around for the waiter. At the end of the meal, my mother got up to try to look for the waiter to settle the bill.
