A Hidden Gem of Authentic Italian Cuisine in Southwest Virginia
We recently discovered Piazza—and loved it so much, we went back just two days later. This place is truly a hidden gem. Every dish is made from scratch with authentic, homemade flavors that instantly transport you to a traditional Italian kitchen. Without exaggeration, it’s the best Italian food we’ve had in Southwest Virginia.
We started with the meatball appetizer—both times—and they were so incredible, we haven’t been able to try a different starter yet! Tender, flavorful, and clearly made with love, they set the tone for the rest of the meal.
We also tried the build-your-own pasta, the daily-made lasagna (which is absolutely phenomenal), and the flatbread pizza. Each dish was exceptional. The quality and care in every bite make it clear this isn’t just another Italian restaurant—it’s something special.
The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a spacious bar area complete with TVs for catching the game, as well as a quieter dining room in the back for a more intimate experience. The service is equally impressive—friendly, attentive, and genuinely kind. We’ve heard great things about the cocktails too and can’t wait to try them next time.
If I had to paint a picture of what dining here feels like, imagine the comfort and joy of Nonna’s kitchen brought to life in a cozy, modern setting. Generous portions, amazing food, and heartfelt hospitality—Piazza has quickly become our go-to spot for Italian cuisine.

I recently visited this restaurant and had a brag worthy experience! We tried serveral things on the menu and they were all fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. My personal top favorite was the caprese salad. It had perfectly roasted tomatoes and creamy burrata with toasted bread—simple but delicious.
The food came out hot and fresh, and the quality definitely stood out. The staff was very friendly and attentive. You can tell they care about their guests and the food they serve.
Definitely a spot I’d come back to, especially for a relaxed meal with great-tasting food!

This place is truly beautiful, especially compared to the older businesses that have occupied the building. I’m thoroughly impressed with their menu, featuring both delicious food and drinks. Maria handcrafted a few cocktails for me, and the food is simply exceptional! I highly recommend the truffle dip – it’s incredible!
