On a trip out to visit my favorite Aunt in Kimball Twsp we stopped to grab pizza for lunch. If you’re in the area I highly recommend stopping and grabbing some pizza and cheese bread. It’s better than some in the metro Detroit area.
FYI apparently this is from when it was Corner Slice, I remember the brief conversation with the owner who was from New York where he learned to make pizza.

We had an excellent dinner @ Phyllis’s Backyard BBQ in Capac last night! This tiny, inconspicuous place, located just North of downtown, served the best brisket I have ever had. The owners were personable, attentive, and did an outstanding job on every single dish. We tried the brisket, the pulled pork, burnt ends, a pizza and various sides (beans, cole slaw, mac and cheese) and everything we had was outstanding- including their homemade BBQ sauce which compliments, and didn’t take anything away from the great flavor of the meat. And, we had enough leftovers for another meal at home.
The place itself is small. Most of the business is take out, but the dining room easily accommodated the four of us our for a late dinner. My brother in law, a connoisseur of BBQ – especially
Texas BBQ – said it was the best brisket he’d had, and that he would travel the three hours from home for another meal!
If you’re looking for memorable BBQ, give Phyllis’s a try. Check the hours – they’re still building the business. It’s worth the trip to tiny Capac for this BBQ experience.

Best pizza in Michigan hands-down. The service was great place was small, but cozy. The owners were very nice. The pizza smelled amazing before we even got it to the table. The barbecue pit was going too, BBQ smell was also amazing. I will take the drive to get pizza. They also have a loyalty program with coupons.

Beautiful, delicious pizza made with love and all homemade ingredients! We ordered the Sicilian Supreme and a regular cheese and pepperoni pizza. You can taste the difference! Owners are extremely kind and caring, too. Will be back soon.

We ordered a Hawaiian pizza. I was told 25 minutes. Got there and was told it was going to be a wait. So I waited 20 more minutes. They had ladies MMA fights on their TV. Personally not a fan but… Anyway, finally got the pizza and that is why I gave them 5 stars. Yes it was that good. 1 guy on a Saturday night, He did his best.

Delicious pizza! It was cooked to perfection, lots of fresh toppings. The Garlic knots were the best I’ve ever had. Tried what I believe was called a meat pie. Johnny loaded it with meat lovers toppings, cheese and topped it with sauce and it was amazing. Can’t speak highly enough of our supper from the Corner Slice
