Tried Phuong Nam Restaurant today and honestly loved it!
The pho was super comforting — rich broth, fresh herbs, and tender beef, perfect for a chilly Winnipeg day. Their fried chicken was also a surprise hit — crispy outside, juicy inside, and full of flavor. The place feels casual and cozy, and the staff were really friendly. Definitely one of those hidden gems I’ll come back to again! ✨

Go for the pho, not the beef sate! They make great pho of various kinds! I have always had a great experience with the soups.
But do not order the sate dishes, as I tried a beef sate yesterday because i wanted something more filling. The photo on the menu looked great, but when it was brought out to me it was just a plate of onion and rice with 3 little torn pieces of beef. I asked the server if this is regularly served with more beef and she brought me the menu and showed me the picture and said this is what you got.
I took a photo before I touched the plate as I thought it was crazy to pay 15$ plus tax for a plate of steamed rice and onion.
See photo!

Came on a rainy day and was pleasantly surprised to see bun rieu on the menu. We tried that and the bun bo hue. Both soups were super flavorful and a good portion size with lots of toppings. Left feeling very satisfied

I have been here several times. Restaurant is always very clean. Today I ordered for delivery after being ignored by Binh Minh. Food was great. Pho broth could be improved a bit more but overall, I was happy with today’s experience of ordering out.

First time trying beef with Chinese broccoli. So generous with the white pepper! It was divine. Beef sliced SO thinly it melted in my mouth!
Assorted Pork Noodle bowl was out of this world. Spring rolls were meaty.
Chicken and onion bowl was surprisingly mellow, almost sweet.
Rare beef pho was delicately seasoned. Nice portion.
Kind & friendly staff

My family’s go-to to celebrate something 🙂 best spring roll, deluxe fried rice and fried chicken in the city! I’ve had a lot fried rice in wpg and Phuong Nam got the best. It has a smokey taste we all really liked. Service was quick and helpful. Thank you always!

So disappointed in this restaurant. My son loves their chow mein and we always go to eat there but, order through Skip and ordered 9 PIECES OF CHICKEN. The description states that there are thigh pieces. When we received the order there were only 8 pieces and all drumsticks. My husband called and they were so rude and so disrespectful to him. I am so sad and disappointed. We won’t be eating or ordering from this disgusting establishment again

Love the fried rice here. Pho is good but not the greatest in the city. Fast service and food. Nice, quiet atmosphere. The honey dew drink (like a bubble tea without the bubbles) is so yummy.

This is my favorite Vietnamese restaurant to eat at. Their dishes are well priced under $10 and the portion size is plenty. Good enough to fill you up or have left overs. My usual order is #54 vermicelli with charbroiled pork and spring rolls and I would drizzle the sweet Hoisin sauce over it.
The service is great and wait time for the food is quick.
I’ve tried other dishes on their menu and they’re pretty good too. I prefer #54 because it has all the ingredients I want to satisfy my hunger.
They used to be opened late past midnight. It’s now just 11am to 11pm, closed Wednesday

Just went to Phoung Nam! It was my first time and OMG the best Vietnamese restaurant in Winnipeg! The Crispy Chicken Chow mein was absolutely perfect, I had to get a second plate! I had the egg crepe and my family had pho and subs and sizzling plates! The customer services was fantastic! We will definitely be regulars!
