The people who worked there were so nice and professional, especially Long, and were happy to have us. I will be back for more soon!
What makes this place the most unique pho spot for me is the noodles. I heard from a friend that they import the noodles from somewhere, I don’t remember where though. The broth is fantastic and how pho should generally be judged, however, these noodles stand out and makes a world of a difference in terms of how buttery they taste. (I doubt it’s butter, but I can’t find a tasty adjective to describe how delicious/special these noodles are). They’re so great to slurp up!
Phoxotic is also great with their take outs! I’ve added pictures to show their setup, and it’s way more intricate and fresh than other take outs I’ve had. I didn’t have to warm anything up in a pot, or microwave, it was good to go!
With that said, I do think you get more if you dine in, but I felt very satisfied with their takeout.
The dine in picture is the butcher’s choice with bone marrow, and the take out is regular pho with 2 choices of meat.
VEGETARIANS: I tried my wife’s vegetarian pho, and it’s very delicious. Most Pho places feels like it’s an after thought… not here!
As you approach the restaurant from the street, you can smell the wonderful aroma of the pho broth which starts making your mouth water!
Don’t let the wait times deter you from eating here, it is busy for a reason, it is absolutely worth the wait! The chef and owner Hai is very knowledgable and definitely puts a lot of love into making these delicious bowls of pho.
The ingredients are very high quality, the meat was tender and the broth had lots of depth. Hai was a butcher, so the cuts of meat definitely don’t disappoint.
Make sure whatever you get, to get the Torched Marrow Bone, it is delectable!
This is hands down the best pho in the DMV, definitely my new go to spot for Pho and will definitely keep coming back. Thanks Hai for bringing this to the DMV and sharing your love of Pho with us!
The vibe on a Friday night was busy but laid back while the view of the kitchen gave everyone that dined in a glimpse into their dishes being made.
If you love pho, this is a must stop if you’re in the Bloomingdale area of DC. Parking is hit or miss but the neighborhood has so many hidden gems that I enjoyed exploring while walking from my car to the restaurant.
**Special Phở** : Man, this phở hits different! Broth’s super rich and fragrant, beef’s tender, noodles are on point. Total comfort food vibes!
