The tofu pudding was really good, not too sweet and not too heavy, just very light and smooth. The banh mi was nice too, fresh and balanced.
The atmosphere is calm and comfortable, and the lady there is very nice and welcoming. She makes you laugh and makes you feel at ease. The inside reminded me a bit of a cha chaan teng back home, which felt familiar in a simple, comforting way. A nice spot if you want something fresh and light.
Portions are good for the price, and the food looks very clean and appetising. Not greasy or oily at all. The aroma is very pleasant, and the atmosphere is lively and cosy. It really feels like you are eating at a Vietnamese family’s home. Even the name of the dishes on the menu was in Vietnamese, which made it feel very authentic.
I had the chrysanthemum iced tea, one of my favourites. Not too sweet, very refreshing, and perfect with the food.
Tried the banh mi thit nuong, com sot vang, pho bo chin, and the Vietnamese silken tofu dessert. The meals are light but still satisfying. I had a few rounds and could finish everything easily, not kidding. Very tasty, but if I came every day I would probably go broke.
The pho broth was savoury but gentle with the seasoning, something you can keep eating without getting tired of it. It comes with coriander, bean sprouts, and lemon on the side, which adds extra depth and freshness to the soup.
The banh mi had a really nice crunch and texture. Already very flavourful on its own, and adding a bit of sriracha just made it even better without being too heavy.
The beef curry smelled amazing, not overwhelming, just very comforting. The beef was tender, and the soup was rich and flavourful. The vegetables soaked up all the broth and went really well with the rice. It was served with some pickled carrot and radish, which worked as a palate cleanser, and you could add black pepper if you wanted more spice.
The Vietnamese silken tofu dessert was not too sweet, and it still felt very light after the meal. A great, gentle way to end everything.
Since it was their opening, the menu will likely change over time. Hopefully there will be even more vegetarian or plant based options in the future, which would give people more variety to choose from.
Overall, a very nice restaurant with good quality food for the price. It is also a great spot to spend time in. Would definitely come back again.
We had the Pho Bo Chin, which is rice noodles with beef in a rich, beefy broth. The Com Thit Kho Trung, which is braised, caramelised belly pork with rice and Cafe Sua Da which is Vietnamese Iced Coffee with condensed milk.
The flavours from the Pho broth were clean and beefy, just how I like it. The flavour from the Thit Kho was just wholesome and what I expected from a staple dish in every Vietnamese household.
The customer service was warm and welcoming. It was actually pleasant to have a conversation with the staff and be able to chuck in a bit of Vietnamese lingo lol.
All in all, it was brilliant! If you want a true taste of Vietnam with the warm and happy vibes of the Vietnamese people, come here.
I ordered the Bánh mì thịt nướng & Cơm thịt kho trứng, and the flavours were unforgettable. As a Vietnamese person, I felt a deep sense of nostalgia — it truly reminded me of the taste of home, something I never expected to find right here in Plymouth.
Bánh mì was crisp on the outside, light and airy on the inside, with a beautiful balance of textures. The bread is clearly fresh, slightly warm, and flavourful even on its own. The filling is generous and well-seasoned without being heavy. The combination of savoury meat, fresh herbs, and pickled vegetables creates a perfect harmony of salty, sweet, tangy and fresh. A little kick of chilli sauce takes it to another level, enhancing the flavours rather than overpowering them. It’s the kind of bánh mì you finish far too quickly, already wishing you had ordered another.
Cơm thịt kho trứng is pure comfort food — deeply nostalgic and unmistakably Vietnamese. The pork belly is tender, slow-cooked until melt-in-the-mouth soft, with a beautifully caramelised sauce that is rich, slightly sweet and incredibly fragrant. Each piece of meat is coated in the glossy sauce, soaking up all the flavour without feeling greasy. The egg, infused with the savoury sweetness of the broth, adds warmth and familiarity. Paired with fluffy white rice, it’s a simple dish done exceptionally well — the kind of meal that instantly makes you feel at home.
Overall, this is a wonderful restaurant offering excellent value for money, authentic flavours, and a genuinely relaxing atmosphere. If you’re looking for real Vietnamese food made with heart, this is the place. I will absolutely be coming back.
