Came here with friends one Sunday afternoon. Arrived shortly after opening so no problem getting seated.
Staff were friendly and service was decent enough.
Very good beer selection & cocktail list.
Food was varied and well prepared. I had the burger, ordered medium rare, and actually got a burger cooked like I like it. The fries were good, crisp outside & soft inside. My wife enjoyed the shrimp salad sandwich which was made with pretty large shrimp, no baby popcorn shrimp here. Our friends enjoyed the club sandwich and quesadilla. Two of the group enjoyed the crab soup.
Overall a good experience and would gladly come back.

10/10, would keep going again & again!! Me & my Honey stopped in looking for late night eats, randomly. It happened to be Midnight Madness in Ellicott City so the place was full but not overwhelming. We were seated upstairs. Max, (The sweetest girl in the world) was our waitress..she schooled us on the restaurant and the area. We ordered some drinks (Apple Cider Crush, Sour Frenchman, buffalo boulevardier, king of Ellicott City, captains punch & Black raspberry bramble). We met the owner, Mr. Mark..Solid Guy, I got the feeling of “No nonsense but fun” kind of guy. Enjoyed chatting it up with him. Listen..the food… Mmm MMMM!! Details in the pic’s caption but that damn Mac & Cheese was something to yell about!!!! Chefs Kiss!!! Me & my love had a time for an unplanned night! We will be back. When you get the opportunity, stop by and show them love. They really do make you “feeel sooo gooood!”

If anything, as a long time Phoenix customer, (virtually since they opened on lower Main) I can honestly say the move has been entirely positive. We had burgers on our last visit and they were on the verge of burger perfection. The fries were great and nice and crispy. Drinks and beers were as expected for a neighborhood pub. And the service was truly fast, efficient and spot on. A great place for virtually any reason to go out.

I’ve been here a couple times and the food and the service is always incredible. But this past time I specifically got the fish and chips. Now I’m not normally a big fish person. But this was hands down the best fish I’ve ever had in my life. It is to die for. But regardless of what you get you can’t really go wrong here

This place is an Ellicott city institution, yet we haven’t been back there since Gordon Ramsay rolled through many years ago. We heard some not so great things about the revised menu and just avoided it. Today, my dining partner was hyped to try this place out, and I was pleasantly surprised. It looks pretty much the same as it always has, which is airy Bavarian cabin style. We ordered the fish and chips (my buddy Gordon’s recipe) as well as the Houston burger. I was curious about the red cabbage side, so I ordered one of those as well, and that was truly the best surprise of the meal. It’s a little bit like sauerkraut, sweet-and-sour. The fries on my fish and “chips” were standard pub fare, and the fish was fine. My dining made loved his burger. It was about what you would expect and a decent option for pub food if that’s what you would like while you’re down shopping in OEC.

A classic Ellicott City pub both pre and post the flood…floods. Excellent food and awesome libations. Full bars on the first and second floors. Gordon Ramsey shot an episode here a few years back, so you know the food is on point. Service is spectacular as well as the friends and ambiance.

Food was excellent i had the blackened chicken sandwich and my wife had a salad and Maryland crab soup. I had their own IPA and my wife had the Captains punch. My only complaint may be there was a musty mop smell but might have been from the Beer tanks. My wife couldn’t smell it though.

Lots of beer on tap and bottles. They are known for their delicious crab dip. Wife had impossible burger w old bay fries (pic) I had their chicken wings & chicken tenders (pic) & caprese salad (pic) is one of the best around. Peanut butter bomb (pic) for dessert is great.
April 2023 they had soft shell crab sliders which we’re excellent. Two of them for $12, the crabs are not small and hung out the side of the small buns.
French onion soup was spot on.
Pretzel appetizer was really good soft.
Blueberry bread pudding was pretty good but not the best we’ve had.
