Parking is incredibly difficult to eat here, but what place in downtown Austin isn’t difficult at parking.
When we first entered restaurant, the door greeter wouldn’t look at us. He kept eyes down and low voice the whole time.
Once we sat down, our waitress was helpful and kind. She is very knowledgeable about the food she was serving.
The parfait tasted like a key lime pie, yogurt a little bit on the runnier side. They add honey and banana to their parfait.
I ordered the Benny Benedict breakfast. This was amazing, the brisket was delicious. The sauce is a bit on the tangy side.
Side note, if they ask you for Avacado, (half an Avacado is $4.50) it’s a bit expensive

Visited the downtown located on 3/5/26 and was not disappointed! If you get a chance to dine here, try to sit at the counter if you are not with a large group. Sitting here gives you the opportunity to see the working of this fantastic restaurant and interact a bit more with the staff.
Servers were fantastic and very personable. Don’t know who sets the standards for service here but the bar is high.
Food is delicious! Wife had the brisket benedict and she would not share any so I know it was good. I had the chicken fried ribeye and it was AMAZING! So tender I could cut it with a fork. Wish I could come here every day!

Very cute restaurant located close to the capital building. We are staying closer to the river so we opted to use the Lime scooters to navigate to Phoebe’s. What a fun way to start the day! I got the Migas, my husband got the chicken fried rib eye, and we shared a few bites of the bananas foster French toast. I opted to add the chorizo to Migas but I am sure that it would have been just as good without. Every bite packed so much flavor and I enjoyed every bite. I tried my husband’s steak and the crunch on the breading was SPOT ON. Their sausage gravy was well flavored, too. The bananas foster French toast was one thick piece of moist and dense banana walnut bread topped with all of the bananas foster fixings. Very sweet but I would recommend as a shared plate for the table so everyone can have a little dessert with their breakfast. Their coffee was a little stronger than a medium roast and it was delicious. My husband enjoyed his cold brew and blood orange juice. The server was attentive and we didn’t want for much. Everyone seemed warm, pleasant and busy!

The Phoebe’s Diner downtown location is much bigger and nicer than the Oltorf location in south Austin. There’s free street parking directly across the street, which is a big plus downtown.
The service was very warm and friendly but not as attentive.
The yogurt parfait was delicious. I ordered it without the lemon curd and it was still fantastic. The portion was very generous so I couldn’t even finish it. The tater tots were perfectly crispy and soooo good dipped in ranch.
A few sides were a bit disappointing. The mushrooms and spinach were a bit too salty, and the side of scrambled eggs looked very dry – my friend didn’t even eat them, and the bacon was so thick it tasted like ham.
I would come back to try some other dishes.

Was in Austin for work and we looked up a breakfast spot and this was close to us. Absolutely delicious! I’m extremely picky with eggs Benedict but I saw them come out with a dish and had to try it. The best eggs Benedict I’ve ever had in my life! Perfectly creamy lemony hollandaise on top of my perfectly cooked eggs over medium (I requested). The hollandaise never separated like I’ve had happen before. The biscuit was also delicious. The first full bite immediately won me over. Coffee was hot and delicious. Got some pancakes for the table and they were crispy on the outside and so moist and soft on the inside. Exactly how I love my pancakes.
Wait staff was friendly and welcoming! I was there with a friend and we stayed for 2 hours, lost track of time chatting, and we weren’t rushed at all. Luckily it was during the week and really early so we didn’t hold up any tables. Next time I’m in Austin again, I will be returning to try something else on the menu.

My wife and I were visiting Austin and had the opportunity to enjoy breakfast twice at the downtown location. As soon as we stepped through the door we made friends with Akiya and Andrea two beautiful souls. The food was tasteful and every bite you wanted more. These two ladies made it feel like we were family. Loved it! The atmosphere was far different than where we came from. Next time we visit we will for sure stop in.Base on my googles reviews I highly recommended this restaurant. Thank you

Great tasting food and portion sizes. Unique Chile Relleno menu item which was delicious as well as BST Omelet was delicious. The French Toast with Banana Foster toppings was an amazing and super tasty – highly recommend but will likely need a To-go box due to its large portion size. Amazing staff , quick service and was worth the detour for non-local to visit.

Phoebe’s Diner Downtown did not disappoint. First time coming and definitely won’t be the last.
I ordered the Double Buzz and it was delicious. They even used a coffee ice cube so the drink didn’t get watered down — small detail, big impact. Also tried the Brunch Punch, which was refreshing and well balanced.
Now let’s talk about the food.
The Deep Fried French Toast was exactly what deep fried French toast should be. Crispy on the outside, soft inside, and not greasy at all and not eggy. The portion was massive… you get two thick slices and I had to take one home. Just the right amount of powdered sugar without overdoing it.
The fried chicken breast? OMG. Crispy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. It paired so well with the French toast.
The vibe is very retro diner, cozy but lively. And shoutout to Hallie, who was both my server and bartender. I didn’t even realize she was handling both because she was that smooth. Super sweet, patient with all my questions, and genuinely welcoming.
I will absolutely be back.

The people of Austin are blessed to have the food and the people you will find here. It was our first time here and we simply asked the server what they recommend and we followed their guidance. We had some grits. We had some eggs. We had some slab bacon. We had the crab cake Benedict. Everything is fresh, expertly prepared and even somewhat adventurous.
Even the homemade pepper jam, which is a bit spicy was a delicious surprise.
We plan to go back tomorrow.
