First time to try nothern viet dishes and I loved it. The pho was light, had clean broth but still rich in that beef flavor and had generous beef portions as well. Bun cha was a nice savory dish which I enjoyed! The patties in that bun cha absolutely levelled it up. We also tried the special combination rice dish and the proteins were packed with flavor just like a Filipino bbq. For drinks we had milo (i liked this) and peach tea (a little bit sweet for my liking). Overall ambiance is nice and staff are accommodating as well.

Such a lovely spot for pho! The broth was rich, fragrant and full of depth — you can really taste the care that goes into it. The beef was tender and fresh, and everything felt clean and well-balanced.

The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. Definitely coming back again. Highly recommend!

Really solid Vietnamese food in Marrickville.
The grilled meat was juicy with a nice char on the outside and full of flavour.
The fried egg was perfectly runny and mixed so well with the sauce and rice.
Portions were generous and everything tasted freshly made.
Definitely a place I’d happily come back to again.

If You Love REAL Pho… You Need This Place

Sydney… we found that spot.

If you love Northern Vietnamese flavours, this place hits DIFFERENT:
Bun Cha – smoky lemongrass pork, tangy dipping broth, fresh herbs.
Pho Bo Dac Biet – clean, clear Hanoi broth that’s all beefy goodness, no sugar bomb.
Xôi Dac Biet – the crunchy–chewy sticky rice combo you didn’t know you needed.
And the iced salted coffee??? Addictive.

Everything was affordable, authentic, and SO satisfying.

The grilled pork vermicelli noodle is fresh and yummy for hot weather. Only thing is the crisp chicken was a bit dry. The restaurant doesn’t have air-con, only two fans, it’s a little bit muggy inside.

Solid addition to the area, specialising in northern cuisine. Pho is a lot lighter and subtle, perfect for the hot weather! Also got the bun cha and the caramelised pork belly which were also delicious. The Viet coffee kept us up later that night as well! Definitely strong and delicious! There is more seating at the back of the place as well – we could fit our pram through there without a problem.

I had no idea there were two types of phở until I tried the Northern-style phở here… and honestly, it changed everything for me. I’ve always eaten Southern phở, which is good, but I never craved it. The Northern phở at Phở Việt Xưa 1919 almost made me fall to my knees.

The broth is incredible — silky, slightly milky, and full of pure collagen and marrow. No sugar, no gimmicks. Just clean, beefy, comforting flavour that doesn’t need anything fancy besides green onion. Easily one of the best noodle soups I’ve ever had.

The beef combination phở is the star of the menu. Pair it with their homemade chilli crisp and garlic, and it’s game over.

We also tried a few other dishes. The bánh mì chảo đặc biệt was a bit too sweet for my liking, and the bún chả was okay. But the iced Milo cocoa was delicious and rich, and the Hanoi lime soda was super sweet but still refreshing.

If you’re a phở lover — or even if you think you aren’t — this place is absolutely worth visiting. I’m now a Northern phở believer thanks to this spot!

The pho here is really special. It tastes different from the usual pho you get elsewhere, in a very good way. Rich, comforting, and absolutely delicious. Would definitely come back.

I had such a satisfying meal here. I ordered one of their noodle bowls and it was exactly what you want from a fresh, balanced Vietnamese-style dish: a generous mound of crisp greens and bean sprouts, bright pickled veggies, and a handful of fragrant herbs (the mint really lifted every bite). The protein was savory and well-seasoned, and once everything was mixed together, the flavors came alive—cool, crunchy, sweet-tangy, and deeply umami all at once.

Portion-wise, it was hearty without feeling heavy, and everything tasted clean and made-to-order. The dining space felt casual and comfortable—perfect for a relaxed lunch or an easy dinner—and service was friendly and attentive without hovering.

If you’re craving something fresh, flavorful, and filling, this place absolutely hits the spot. I’ll be back.
