An impromptu visit to this restaurant and I was pleasantly surprised. The wait staff were courteous and helpful. The food was very good and the portions are very generous. I love pan fried noodles and they had them with seafood; but, I asked if l could get them with another form of protein and the waiter was like no problem so I got the chicken with vegetables. It was just what I wanted. Looking forward to a return visit.

The concept of this meal is amazing but for me the broth was on the sweeter side even after my siracha and housin sauce add, or maybe something I added made it sweet I’m not sure. But it was a good experience. Warmed me up after an Eagles Game and right in the area. Had on site parking and no wait time. The lemonade was delicious. I did not finish my food the portion was massive I ate it for 2 days that was great!

Pho Today is my go-to spot in South Philly! While I’m not the biggest fan of their pho, I always come back for their other dishes. My favorites are the bamboo shoot noodle soup and the duck salad, the broth is rich and flavorful, and the duck with the ginger garlic dipping sauce is the perfect combo. I also love the bun dac biet “Today,” and my husband can’t get enough of the salmon in clay pot.
The portions are generous, prices are very fair, and everything tastes fresh and authentic. Service is always excellent, and there’s plenty of seating with a relaxed, welcoming vibe. The only downside is the parking, especially on weekends, it can be tough to find a spot.
Still, it’s 100% worth it for the food and experience. Highly recommend!

Food: Bun Bo Hue, Combination Today Rice Plate, Fish Sauce Wings, Pork and Shrimp Spring Rolls
Comments: Everything was very delicious. The rice plates was good and pork chop was seasoned and cooked perfectly. Chicken wings was a bit dry but the taste was good. Bun Bo hue was spicy but it had a lot of flavor and a lot of meat which was surprising. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. And they had a lot of parking which was a big plus for Philly. Overall would recommend this place for quality Vietnamese food in Philly.

there was a piece of raw meat or fish in my vegetarian pho. weirdly enough this is the second time this has happened. the first time it was a piece of tripe but they have good veg pho so i wanted to give it a second chance. it happened again from the same location- this is a serious health code violation

This restaurant is a place we usually go to, and most of the time our experiences have been fine. However, I wanted to share a concern from a recent visit.
During this visit, I ordered the chicken pho with chicken broth. After eating the soup for about 5–10 minutes, I began to feel unwell — I had difficulty breathing, started sweating, felt hot, and became tired. My spouse and I were quite concerned, and for a moment we considered going to the ER. After some time, I realized the reaction may have been related to the broth, possibly due to a high amount of MSG, which I personally seem to be sensitive to. I don’t know how much MSG is used, but I would strongly recommend the restaurant review or reduce the amount added to the broth, or at least make it clearer to customers.
Aside from that incident, the staff is usually friendly, though they can be a bit inattentive during very busy times. The food overall has been okay. In previous visits, I really enjoyed the rice noodles with grilled chicken and the spring rolls. However, the braised catfish I tried once was very salty.
The atmosphere is clean and spacious, which we do appreciate.
We’ve had many normal visits here, but this recent experience was concerning, and I hope the restaurant takes food sensitivity and seasoning levels into consideration moving forward.

The pho was alright. Nothing exceptional I get pho all the time though and I always order the same thing. The customer service was really great. The bathroom trash was filled to the top when I went to wash my hands. I tried a new kind of drink the waitress was honest with me about the fact that I may not like it because it was a traditional Vietnamese drink based in the herb pennywort.

Wow.. I’m honestly left speechless! As a first time customer recommended here by family, I’m beyond impressed by both the quality and the speed of the pho. I’m a big foodie, and when it comes to pho I can be very particular. I usually stick to my local spot, but trying Pho Today Philly almost feels like I’m “cheating” on them, because this might just be as good, if not better!
I ordered the combo meal (around $13 and change), and it exceeded expectations. The broth was rich and flavorful—just slightly on the salty side for my family and I (maybe we just got a batch that was a bit too salty), but still delicious. The meat was fresh and tender, and the noodles were perfect. Overall, such a fantastic experience that definitely earns a return visit.
