I ordered the wonton soup (pictured). It looks like it was packaged with care, and you can truly taste that in every bite. I’ve officially found a new favorite spot.
My close to home go to vietnamese restaurant.
For appetizer, we ordered the spring rolls and for the entre, I ordered the Pho with eye round steak and tripe.
The spring rolls were fine but I was a little caught off guard with their peanut sauce. The peanut sauce I’m used to is thicker and saltier but this one tasted a little watered down and the consistency was similar to that too.
As for the pho, the soup was honestly pretty bland. There wasn’t much meat in there either so it was a little disappointing.
On a high note, I ordered the Kumquat Sugarcane juice which was a nice refreshment!
Aside from that, the service was standard but I would have to say this place is a 2.9/5.
Service is always friendly and quick; the food is fresh, delicious and consistent.
The MUST order dish … the Chả Giò (fried egg rolls). Made the old school way with a rice paper (bánh tráng) wrapper, containing a wonderful, addictive & balanced filling showcased in a crispy, blistered exterior – just phenomenal! Comes with a plate full of fresh green leaf lettuce, pickled carrots, cucumber slivers and cilantro sprigs… just be careful biting into these when they come out because they are nuclear hot (temp) on the inside.
And because I’m also addicted to the Shrimp & Pork Spring Rolls (Gỏi Cuốn), I get these every time also. Loaded with shrimp, strips of pork, lettuce and the good kind of vermicelli, these offer a great flavor combo and chewiness satisfaction.
Entree wise, I usually go for the Pho or a hot vermicelli dish. The Pho here is great – hearty, plentiful and overall delicious. The broth stands on its own; well-developed and a great balance of flavors.. it’d be a shame to douse it with sriracha and hoisin. Another generous fresh plate of veggies is coupled with your bowl of Pho to accentuate and elevate your experience – bean sprouts, jalapenos, cilantro, thai basil and a wedge of lime.
