Trashy food. I ordered a a grilled beef and it’s under cooked. I told the waiter about it. and I didn’t do anything!! So I called the number they provided for feedback and wanted to tell the owner of the issue. But the lady that answered the call hang up on me when I simply asked her is the owner is there. Then I called back and no one pick up the call again!! So rude and trashy.

Good food, better people.

My wife’s car broke down in the rain. She ended up pulling into the small private parking lot behind their building and grabbed food while she waited for me to arrive. I then got food shortly after while waiting for a tow. Fortunately no one minded we occupied a spot in the private lot.

I was wet, covered in dirt, and cut myself while assessing the vehicle. I was totally embarrassed of my presentation. None the less, the staff offered me a bandaid quickly and were incredibly understanding, kind, and accommodating to our situation. They genuinely cared and didn’t mind us killing time in the restaurant.

The food came out quick, was delicious, and very affordable.

Pho Tan made an awful experience into a tolerable one for myself and wife. I couldn’t be more grateful. Flushing is genuinely lucky to have this establishment and it’s staff as part of their community.

This place needs more attention because of their delicious food and remarkable customer service.

Pho Tan is a new Vietnamese restaurant that serves tasty Pho and other Vietnamese staples like Banh Mi and grilled meats. What makes this place special is their quick and responsive customer service. After we got seated and placed our orders, our food was served – without exaggeration- under five minutes! And mind you, the place is packed with customers.

Overall, please support this new spot in Northern Boulevard. Places like this that prioritize good customer service must be kept in business.

Love this new establishment. This neighborhood finally has a new place for local residents to go whenever we feel like eating out and too lazy to cook.
This is a very family, cozy, and homey place. It deserves all the positive reviews and raves soon to come. The food tastes like you’re eating in the chef’s home dining room. Very homey and not greasy or oily. The prices are unbeatable and so affordable. They are very generous with dish size too. I have so much leftovers that I took it home to eat the next day. The pho soup was the best dish. The broth was boiled for 10 hours! You can taste the chef’s dedication and hard work. This is a perfect addition to this area. I will definitely be back and it’s now my “go-to” place .

The service is great but I can’t say the same for the food. I ordered crispy spring rolls, grilled pork chop over rice, beef cubes over rice, and a pho just to try the soup base. All three dishes were bland. The beef and pork chop needed more flavoring. At least the pork chop had sauce on the side, but it still didn’t help the dish taste better. The beef had no sauce and on its own, it definitely needed more flavor. The pho soup did not taste like pho compared to other Vietnamese restaurants I have visited. It looked turbid. I’m unsure of what the soup base was. I have definitely smelled and tasted it before in Chinese restaurants. It is not true pho, but for the price I did get a lot of meat. I ordered tri color ice and it was mainly string jelly, shaved ice and condensed milk on top of the ice. I guess I was expecting rainbow ice with jelly, red beans, etc. Hard pass on revisiting this place since there are definitely other Vietnamese restaurants that are a lot better.

Pho Tan in Flushing earns 3 stars from me—not great, not terrible, but definitely inconsistent. The beef curry has improved a lot, which was a pleasant surprise, and the red curry and rice vermicelli dishes usually don’t disappoint.
However, the negatives are hard to ignore. The last beef satay I ordered was dry, burned, and a total waste of money—especially for the price, this was a pretty expensive mistake. The pineapple fried rice is overpriced for what you get (just a few canned pineapple chunks), the same as the simple egg fried rice side, which is much better value. Crispy shrimp rolls and the drunk noodles can be good, but only if things like the lettuce or egg aren’t overcooked.
Overall, dining here can be a mixed bag. There are some reliable choices, but plenty of disappointment if you order wrong. For the cost, you’d expect more consistency—and especially not to get burnt, dried-out food at menu prices.
