If you’re on the hunt for a true hole-in-the-wall gem in Sherman, Pho Shi Bowl is an absolute must-try. I’ll be the first to admit—I wouldn’t say I’m “all in” on Asian cuisine—but I decided to give this place a shot, and wow… I was completely blown away.

The portions alone are impressive, so definitely come hungry. I ordered the Chicken Ramen, expecting a standard soup bowl, and instead was greeted with a huge bowl packed with flavor. Every bite was rich, comforting, and honestly some of the best-tasting ramen I’ve had. We also tried the orange chicken with steamed rice, and it was out of this world—crispy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced.

What really sealed the deal was the price. After such generous portions and incredible food, I was bracing for a higher bill—but it ended up being surprisingly affordable for a weeknight dinner for two.

This is one of those spots you’re excited to tell people about but also want to keep to yourself. Whether you’re dining in or grabbing takeout, I’ll definitely be back again very soon.

PROS:
One of those hidden gems that locals keep to themselves
Great Food
Decent Atmosphere and Service
Friendly Staff
** Recommended

CONS:
Long wait time for food (20m+)
Located in otherwise empty strip mall development

REVIEW:
Hidden gem of a place in Sherman with a decent atmosphere, friendly staff and great food! The service was a little slow – they seem to do A LOT of To Go orders – but they were all very friendly.
Once we got our food we realized it was worth the wait.
We ordered the Ramen, Pho and Chicken Fried Rice.
All were excellent – likely the best Pho broth and Fried Rice we’ve ever had and that is saying A LOT.
Pricing is typical for the cuisine – $10-$15 per plate.
They also offer Boba, which was a nice treat.

10/30/2025: My family was in Sherman to go to an extracurricular activity and found this pho restaurant through Google Maps.

We arrived around 6:20 pm and noticed 3 tables with guests. No employees initially greeted us. A few minutes later, a gentleman came out of the back to seat us and provide menus.

We noticed the menu had a multi Asian cuisine offering (Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, Burmese) and figured out the owners were not Vietnamese.

We ordered an adult beef pho, kid beef pho, combination fried rice, and steamed chicken dumplings.

The pho wasn’t authentic beef pho, but we didn’t have a high bar set. There was no real depth of beef flavor and the traditional pho aromatics/spices were not present. The broth in each bowl was overly fatty aka the non skimmed top layer of fat. The noodles were typical and the beef toppings were skimpy compared to authentic pho restaurants. No one finished their pho.

The chicken dumplings were just ok. They were like an average, freezer brand, store bought version.

The combination fried rice was the most liked of the items ordered.

We did find out this family restaurant owners are Burmese.

For anyone who has authentic Vietnamese pho, you will be disappointed. But for Sherman, where the pho choices are limited, Pho Shi Bowl is okay.

Simple no frills place. Good food, got our requests correct (dietary allergy to red meat and dairy) and service was fast. Thank you for serving fresh good food.

We waited for 10 minutes without seeing the waitress. Surprisingly, a boy from a neighboring store had to run over and inform the restaurant staff that customers were waiting. Meanwhile, another customer was ready to pay but couldn’t find anyone available to assist.

The atmosphere was just okay, but the exterior looked uninviting—like a massage salon—with all the windows completely covered, making it impossible to see inside. The food was overpriced and lacked authentic pho flavor. For example, the spring rolls cost $4.99 for three pieces, but they were cut into smaller portions, essentially giving you one roll for the price. They also have different pricing: the menu lists cash prices, but paying with a credit card will cost you more.

Overall, we didn’t enjoy the experience. The food was disappointing, and the service was disorganized. Unfortunately, we didn’t have time to look for another restaurant.

Let me know if you’d like further tweaks!
Enjoy….

EXCELLENT FOOD. You can tell the chef/owner cares deeply about their food and its quality and taste. Easily the best sushi in town! Great quality at a good price. Good people here you can tell. Veggie pho and spring rolls are excellent too 🙂

We came here on a week day and it was empty and quiet. Definitely needs more improvement on the ambient ( the main wall is super cute tho!!!) Our server was really nice and easy to talk to! We ordered a mango Boba tea, gyozas, spicy roll and beef pho.
The sushi was very simple, but it had great taste. The gyozas my husband loved them, he said it tasted homemade. We weren’t big fans of the pho, the broth of the soup didn’t really have much flavor compared to other places we tried. But that is just our preference. Nonetheless, it is great that sherman is finally getting more places to eat other than fast food, and we are able to try cuisines from other cultures! Wish you all the best!

Everything was incredibly fresh and delicious. Do yourself a favor and order the Combo Pho C3! Everything was amazing here and we highly recommend you give them a try if you like the real deal. They let us know they’re going to be adding a few more specialty items to their menu and we’re looking forward to it! Thanks for the excellent food and service!
