Hidden little gem and really good food. Nice variety of food to choose from but not a big menu, which I prefer. We had the combination Pho, chicken Pho and shrimp spring rolls for dinner and it was delicious. Only one size bowl (large) and it was more than plenty. Had a lot more meat than I expected too. Spring rolls were good and the peanut sauce was good as well. Place was clean and the waitress was attentive and polite. Will definitely be back to try another type of dish. Need to see what they consider “spicy”.

I took my cousin here for dinner, and I could not be happier with the restaurant. It was very clean, bright, and open. The service was excellent, and the food even better. When I asked if it would be a problem to exclude an ingredient, I was informed that each dish was prepared fresh, which was extremely good to hear. My cousin is also very picky, but loved his meal. 5 stars, will definitely go again.

In an area that has very little Asian food this place is an absolute gem. This is the only Vietnamese restaurant I know of in the Hill Country, and the food is fresh and fabulous. The spicy lemongrass beef vermicelli is one of my favorites as is the seafood combination and hot clay pot. It sometimes takes the kitchen staff 15-20 minutes to prepare your order but that’s OK – this isn’t fast food and it’s worth the wait. I absolutely love this restaurant!

Awesome place to have in Kingsland. Ordering shrimp fried rice for the second time this week! Also, the prices are very reasonable. I only wish they didn’t take the bubble smoothies of the menu. I love those things. The young lady that usually takes your order is very friendly.

This place is a diamond in the rough. Excellent, fresh food. First time in I ordered the General Tso’s expecting the typical batter fried chicken with a goopy sauce. What I got was sliced chicken breast in a spicy, sweet, fragrant with ginger and lemon grass sauce. The shrimp spring roll with peanut sauce was delicious. 10/10 will frequent this business!

Great food! Fresh and tasty. $$ price is moderate, $8-$12 plates. Love the rolls, egg or spring. I have tried almost everything, the Pho is delish, I recommend Rare Beef.

We love this restaurant. It is a favorite,so much so, that we have eaten here on 2 conservative nights. My only suggestion is that they don’t realize the influx of people on summer weekends. Only one waitress is not enough to properly serve, greet, and thank patrons. But,it is definitely the best.

I would put this food up against any Vietnamese food in Texas and other states as well. Fresh ingredients, eat here twice a week. Clean as a whistle you could eat off the floor! Vietnamese spoken here. Rare lime beef salad and shaken beef are excellent!!!

My family, co-workers, and I try to eat here every chance we can get. Sometimes we walkout with Togo orders for the entire office staff. There is usually one hard working waitress/cashier/etc. called Pheung which she is always attentive in whichever roll she is in. I believe she told me it was a family business. There is some of the food with nuts.
My Favorite dishes:
Salt and Pepper squid with fried rice,
Pork Virmeceli
Beef Flank Steak Pho
Egg rolls

Good dishes but not my favorite:
Stir Fry Egg Noodle
Spring Rolls

The whole menu

Kingsland. You are so lucky to have this restaurant. My inlaws have had a LakeHouse here since the mid 90s, and I’ve come here a few times a year for the past 20 years. The food here is what you would expect for a town of 4500. Most restaurants are okay. A couple of the Mexican places are decent. But you’re not going to find any Michelin stars getting thrown around here anytime soon.

Well imagine my surprise tonight when I ordered take out dinner for 14 from Pho Saigon Kitchen. This place is awesome!!! We ordered across the board and nothing disappointed.

I should mention that I’m from Vietnam and a restaurant owner myself.

Kingsland, you now have a Vietnamese restaurant that would stand up to the top 20% of Vietnamese restaurants in ANY city of any size in the world.

It’s up to you all to take care of this place and make sure that they get enough business to make it.

For those who are not familiar with Vietnamese food, you need to go try it.

I’m going to help you all out with a Vietnamese food primer:

– The food at this restaurant is very approachable for a new eater. Some Asian restaurants use strange cuts of meat like tripe or tendon or fatter cuts, but this restaurant doesn’t. All of their beef, pork, chicken, shrimp was lean and of very good quality.

– For those of you who are afraid to try a new cuisine, don’t be. Vietnamese food is mainly just rice, rice noodles, with beef, pork, chicken, shrimp or tofu. It’s delicious and very easy to eat.

– Vietnamese food is mostly not spicy. We eat it spicy but it’s up to you to add hot sauce to it to make it hot for yourself. It isn’t cooked spicy. That said, their dishes that say they are spicy in the title are slightly spicy, but even my kids didn’t have any issues with the heat.

Here are the dishes that we tried. They were all good:

1. Pork spring rolls. Good quality. (To the owners, your peanut sauce is good on taste but it was a little thick. Please add a little bit of hot water to the mix in your prep and this will be solved).

2. Salt and Pepper calamari. This was delicious. Calamari was not chewy at all and flavors were on point. I’d increase the amount of Calamari by about 25% though.

3. Pho with rare steak. Delicious!!! This is the Vietnamese national dish. Beef stock that’s been slow cooked with beef bones for hours and served with rice noodles and rare eye of round steak. This is a very hard dish to make right and pho kitchen nails it. The bone broth is made authentic, you can taste it. And if you reheat the left overs, you will see that there’s bone broth by-product that you need to skim off, a sign of authentic pho.

4. Beef and Pork vermicelli bowls. Delicious. Marinade is perfect. Good level of lemongrass. My only thought for the owners is to increase the sweetness of the fish sauce slightly. Your fish sauce is more northern style and I prefer a slightly sweeter mix like they make in Saigon. I think you’ll find that the American clientele will like it better too.

5. Crispy egg Noodles. Nailed it.

6. Viet chicken salad. One of the best versions of this that I’ve ever had. Your vinegar dressing on this is perfect. Perfect sweetness level.

7. Beef salad. Great.

I will be eating from this place every single time I come to Kingsland from now on.

Local folks. Please realize how lucky you are that a great Vietnamese place has opened here.

Please go try it. Trust me. You will love it.

Btw. The famous celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain calls Pho his death row meal. And Pho Saigon kitchen makes a very good version of it.
