The Pho Saigon Pearl on S Fairfax in Los Angeles is a basic neighborhood jewel of a Vietnamese restaurant. Not fancy, but the food is fantastic.

The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. There’s street parking but no parking lot.

I recommend the Pho Saigon Pearl.

If you’re seeking the perfect blend of spicy yet balanced flavors in Southeast Asian cuisine, this is the ultimate restaurant. The pork chops, featuring perfectly seasoned pork, were exceptional, and the oxtail pho, with its tender oxtail, was superb—a great choice for nourishing comfort food.

Don’t come here – I need it to not be packed ever so I can continue to get amazing food served
We had the pho fax (i believe) with the bone marrow – its to die for! And the egg rolls which were just done perfectly. Would come back anytime I’m in town – almost went back a 2nd night in a row!

I took my mom to this restaurant last night for our final dinner together before she returned to our home country, and we truly loved the experience. The food was delicious, and we really appreciated the wide variety of gluten-free and vegetarian options available. Our server was equally wonderful and provided thoughtful recommendations when we had trouble deciding what to order. The exceptional hospitality truly elevated our first visit. We will definitely be returning.

We love Pho so we had to try this place during our trip to L.A. I got the oxtail Pho and it was so good. It was a nice portion so I shared some with my hubby. I love the rich culture from the cassette and VHS tapes to the music and decor! It just felt like being a part of history.

can’t go wrong with anything you order from here! Best fried egg rolls and must try the pandan waffles and ice cream for dessert.

Love this place and the ambience. A cool nostalgic vibe with funny merchandise. Their oxtail pho was different than I’ve had before at other spots. The broth was more like a beef broth than traditional pho broth. Still comforting and soothing. I appreciate that they give you plenty of tender oxtail. Their shrimp fresh spring rolls were tasty. I didn’t try the banh mi but I was told it was a solid sandwich. Their Thai tea was refreshing and hit the spot. There was no wait for a Sunday at 1pm. Service was nice and fast. Parking is a little hard since it’s metered street parking. We luckily found a spot nearby. This place is cashless but these days most people pay with a card, so not a huge inconvenience. I would come back to try out more dishes.

I stumbled upon this gem of a Pho restaurant on Fairfax in LA, and it’s truly a rare find! Their Vietnamese dishes, crafted with authenticity and care, offer a genuine taste of home. The nostalgic decor with cassette tapes and video games adds a unique charm. Plus, a big win for me – no MSG! And to top it off, they have Beer Saigon! It’s not just a meal; it’s an experience blending authentic flavors and cherished memories.
Service is good and friendly, and they’ve got seating options for different group sizes – from large gatherings to small tables and a patio. It’s convenient to have a Vietnamese place in LA without trekking too far. The decor is a mix of old-school charm, and they even sell some merchandise. It’s a good spot for a quick Vietnamese fix, though be aware they can be a little backed up during busy hours. Understandable nowadays. Highly recommended!

Tofu banh mi and lemongrass chili stir fry with pork were both delicious. Spring rolls with shrimp were Ok, but the sauce was a bit too sweet for our taste. Their garlic chili oil is really good on anything.
Tall, Dark and Stormy coffee was good too, not overly sweet.
Service was excellent and woman working out front was awesome.

I have been coming to Pho Saigon Pearl for years, and I have always raved about their pho to friends. So when I brought a friend for a late dinner on a rainy night, I was excited to share one of my longtime go-to spots.

We arrived at about 8pm, well before closing, and ordered the phofax special plus egg rolls. Right from the start things felt a little off. I asked for ice water and was told they could not serve water. That seemed odd, so I asked about bottled options, and we ordered a couple. Our food came out quickly, but the pho arrived without the usual sides, no sprouts, no lime, nothing. The broth was also lukewarm. We had to ask for the missing sides, and by the time we were halfway through our bowls, we realized our bottled waters never came either.

None of these issues alone would have bothered me much, but the overall attitude from our server made it feel like we were an inconvenience for being there. I understand that late tables can be tough near closing time, but we did arrive with a full hour to spare. It was disappointing because I have always had great experiences here, and it was tough to feel so unwelcome at a place I used to frequent all the time.

It is surprising how one bad visit can take the shine off a place you once loved. I hope this was just an off night, because I have always believed this spot serves some of the better pho around.
