Pho Real is exactly the kind of spot Asheville needs, the kind of place where the food is outstanding but you don’t have to get dressed up for it. Yes, the counter/kiosk setup can create a small bottleneck at times, but honestly, a little patience goes a long way, something most people could use more of these days.

As someone who was a chef for 16 years, I can easily taste the freshness here. The beef broth pho is rich and full of depth, and the vegetable broth is just as flavorful, which is rare to find. The steamed shrimp spring rolls are huge, clean, and super fresh.

The two guys running the front are genuinely nice, helpful, and welcoming, which makes the whole experience even better. I’ve been two nights in a row and left fully satisfied both times.

Great spot in a great little plaza. I’ll definitely be back.

I was really excited, the food was very good and fresh with generous portions of vegetables and everything. I got the vegetable Pho with shrimp added, delicious high-quality shrimp and also in the fresh rolls really big and delicious. My only suggestion is better sauces. The peanut sauce for the fresh roll kind of tasted like corn syrup. I added a little soy sauce to it. The soup broth could’ve been a little more flavorful, but overall the food seemed very fresh with lots of vegetables and garnishes! Everyone was very friendly and helpful!

Awesome dinner!!! I had both the Pho and beef fried rice. Both dishes were great! The pho was light and delicious and I know the bone broth is cooked fresh daily. The fried rice was excellent as well. My wife had the shrimp salad bowl and it was quite large and delicious. You better bring a good appetite!

In my opinion, the general Asheville area was lacking in legit Pho. This place came out of nowhere in 2025 and I’ve eaten there more times than I can count now. The Pho is SOOO GOOD. My family says other things on the menu are also delicious, but im there for the soup man. The place is clean. The service is quick and always fantastic. The staff is super friendly. You can sit inside or outside. If you like Pho, dont sleep on this. Just leave some noodles for me please.

The fried rice and the Pho is really good. I do have a caveat the Pho (selected veggie broth to avoid this) has a lot of sodium in it. I thought it was great in flavor but truly needs less salt. The pork fried rice same. A friend picked this up at my request and if there are no means by which to make an alteration in the sodium levels I could not make this choice again.

Expectations were low from reading reviews but honestly I liked it better than Wild Ginger, which is great since it’s way closer to me. I tried the chicken banh mi & chicken fried rice (spicy). I really liked the coconut on the banh mi and that it was rolled up so nice and neat. Chicken fried rice was tasty too. We will definitely be back for take out – not sure we will eat in. The ordering kiosks were a weird vibe and everyone was pretty crammed in who was seated (although there was a fair amount of outside seating too).

Ordering at a computer kiosk can create a bottleneck, but menu is simple and food is good. Atmosphere/service is what you’d expect from a counter service fastish food place – it’s not a sit down restaurant with servers. Bottom line – not as good as Wild Ginger but much closer for us! The peanut sauce for the spring rolls was terrible – they should change that. Too pastey/sweet. Not peanuty enough.

After reading the prior reviews before coming here, my expectations were set low. I was pleased to find the pho to be good. The spring roll was ok and the peanut sauce can use actual bits of peanuts and be less watery. The eggrolls was a waste of money though. They were tiny and not flavorful.
I expected more than 1 kiosk and layer out better but walked in to find just 1 very close to the door (another at register where an employee stood for cash orders). I recommend a 2 sided standalone kiosk more away from the doors to prevent congestion there. Ordering was easy and though there was a tip option it was not forced. I left a tip on the table for whoever cleaned up after me which was the gal at the register. It was a little after 3 on Saturday so I got in quick, got my food less than 10 minutes after, eat and left. My visit was maybe 30 minutes total.

First time there. Very clean, efficient service, easy to order for dine in or take out. The Pho noodle broth was delicious and so was the Bahn Mi sandwich.

Never usually at the north side of town but we were in the neighborhood and hungry. Pho Real did not disappoint. We had the curry which was absolutely delicious and just the right amount of kick for me. (You can ask for it spicer!) Lovely staff and great food. I will definitely make the trip from South AVL again for this place (and that’s says a lot!)
