There was an extreme cold and strong wind alert today, which might explain why it wasn’t very crowded, even on a Saturday night.
There were plenty of seats available, the service was great, and the food was absolutely fantastic, truly delicious. The atmosphere is very clean and pleasant.
Prices are fair and in line with the market average. When it’s time to pay, you need to go to the counter.
Overall, I highly recommend it! I’ll definitely be coming back.
the phở was good, definitely not the best. lacking in depth and quantity. quality? I mean, it’s there w the broth and meats but usually it is supposed to be fulfilling. I left wanting another bowl from a different place. the price was definitely reasonable and you get what you’d expect. straight to business, no frills. good for a quick bite, just not memorable
the coffee was good. I’d get it again.
But here, they mix the hoisin and the spicy in the same little container. Not everyone likes spicy sauce and/or hoisin sauce, and to mix them together and only provide a single container of the mixed sauce is just cheap.
It’s not a big deal, but when you ask for them to separate the sauces and they still give you mixed container that’s just poor customer service and cheap.
However, when the food arrived, we immediately noticed a very strong fishy odor. The broth was yellow, and the meat had a greyish hue, which raised concerns about freshness. Given the unusual smell and appearance, we were hesitant to try it.
We politely voiced our concerns to the server, who then brought over the manager. Instead of addressing the issue, the manager launched into a long speech about how they’ve never received a complaint in 20 years and insisted the food must be fresh because they were “too busy” for it not to be—despite the fact that we were the only customers in the restaurant at the time (photo attached). She ended abruptly with, “No returns or exchanges.”
Ultimately, we decided not to eat the food, paid our bill (including a tip for the kind server), and left. While the portion size was generous, the overpowering fishy smell, unappetizing appearance, and dismissive attitude from management left a negative first impression.
If you’re a regular and enjoy this place, perhaps our experience was not typical. But if food freshness and customer service matter to you, I’d recommend you look elsewhere.
Came here for lunch today—we were seated right away and food was great!
