Visiting Pho Pasteur on a snowy day was absolutely blissful! I had the pleasure of dining there with a Vietnamese friend who lives in Boston, and she said that this is hands down the best Vietnamese cuisine she’s ever had in the city.

The food was seriously delicious! And the coconut smoothie was just amazing.

This place is amazing! The service here is just as great as “The Flash,” you definitely need to come check it out. Highly recommend!

Pho on a rainy day in Boston makes everything better. I got the large Beef Noodle Soup (#13) and it completely hit the spot — super flavorful, hearty, and definitely filling. The fresh rolls were fantastic too, super fresh and tasty.

It was pretty busy despite the rain, but the service was quick and friendly. The space is cozy and simple — nothing fancy, but that’s part of the charm. You come here for the quality food, and it absolutely delivers. I’d definitely come back!

It was my first day in Boston, and I had dinner here this evening. The warm hospitality and wonderful food made it a truly enjoyable experience.
However, due to my mistake, I left the restaurant without checking the tip, which may have caused an awkward situation. It was not intentional, but rather a misunderstanding on my part.
I sincerely apologize and ask for your kind understanding. I’ll make sure this doesn’t happen again on my next visit. Thank you very much for the excellent meal and friendly service. ^^

This place served the food really quick, however we were definitely rushed out. I never had that experience before in any other restaurant because we were in and out the restaurant in under 30 mins. The restaurant was not full at that time since we arrived before the regular dinner hours (around 4pm). I felt rushed around the 20-25 min mark because the waiter would come and take the dishes away once they saw something was complete, and gave the receipt asap. They weren’t busy because when they weren’t rushing us, the guys were just standing and chatting amongst each other. Also, I come from Toronto so maybe the taste of pho is different in Boston, but the soup was a bit sour than what I am used to in Toronto and Vietnam itself. Maybe Boston taste buds are different (my partner who grew up in Boston says that this is how pho usually tastes for him and he likes it)? But there is better pho out there than what I tasted here…The bun thit nuong is standard, tastes good. Glad I chose that dish over pho. I don’t think I’ll come back to this place due to the rushed service and I didn’t feel too welcomed. I appreciate the quick food delivery but it’s clearly a place where you’re meant to eat quick and leave quick.

I ordered the #12 XL Beef Pho. Overall it was good, but if I’m being picky, there’s some room for improvement:
1. I wish the soup had been hotter.
2. The noodles had a slight funky smell—not the usual aroma I expect.
3. There was a lot of meat (which is great), but I wish there were crushed chili sauces available on the table.
4. The bean sprouts, basil, and lime were nice, but I would have liked some hot green peppers or jalapeños on the side.

We ate there Pho – at 7-Sep-25, around 16:00. I ate the Pho with the sea food – see in the attached picture. The Pho is very big, so I took half of it in take away. It was very good, with lots of sea fruits. The vegetarian Pho that the other people ordered was also good. The service is quick and efficient, and prices are very reasonable.

indifference can be a very high price to pay. at pho pasteur, indifference is not what one sees. smiley faces will have you imagine what it would mean to indulge in one of their many listed items on the menu. i had just left “south-station” on my way to my hotel (am in boston from new york and run into plenty of culinary options along the way). wow pasteur won. pho is out of this world — just the way i had it in ho chi minh city. pho and tripe? yum the flow of service can be overwhelming, but the smiles will never stop. that’s what i call culture. service is done THEIR way and, in their own language. haha i was treated as if a distant cousin. fabulous! “what more you like, honey?” aw! a true jewel in the city.

Food was okay for Boston’s Vietnamese food scene (I’m Vietnamese myself). Not the best and not the worst I’ve had.. although I’ve for sure have had better. Spring rolls were disappointing to say the least because the lettuce looked and tasted very old and customer service was almost nonexistent cause numerous times I had to wave down my waiter in case I wanted something because he paid more attention to the people who came in groups as oppose to people like myself who came alone. But most of all I’m disappointed in my avocado smoothie of which I paid almost $7 for to end up discovering a broken plastic spoon hidden deep in my drink and chunks of plastic of which some I’ve already accidentally swallowed myself so I ended up having to throw the whole drink away. Didn’t realized their mistake until after I got home and tried it for the first time. If they’re this negligent making smoothies I can imagine that they’re negligent with something else therefore it has lost my trust. This is my first and last time visiting this restaurant.

Best authentic southern Pho in Boston (beats ones I’ve had in Dorchester). Have come back a few times. Great service and atmosphere. Reasonable price and good portions.

However I do not recommend the curry vermicelli (bún cà ri gà). It was made using Japanese curry roux and not at all the more traditional Vietnamese coconut curry.

Ordered 39. CƠM SƯỜN hoặc CƠM THỊT NƯỚNG hoặc CƠM GÀ NƯỚNG 豬扒/烤豬肉/烤雞腿飯. Here is what the two porkchops inside looked like. RAW? It is supposed to be cooked fully through.
