My visit with guests to this restaurant was very enjoyable. Let me tell you about it. It is located in a great venue with immediate access to 1604 and 281. There are many great shops and good parking here. Now, for the main event. The restaurant offers a clean family atmosphere with attentive, professional staff. And the pho, well, it was outstanding! On a cold Texas day, in my opinion it was the best comfort I could have asked for. The bowl was endless. My guests appreciated the experience, the food, the location, and our time together. I would like to thank the staff for making our evening a pleasant one.

We visited this spot for a craving of Pho. I had happened to see it driving around earlier in the day running errands so we gave it a chance. We got there around 730pm. It was empty. But as you know, if the family has their kid doing homework in the corner and helping out, then it’s gotta be good.
We were seated and server took our order quickly. She was very nice. Answered all questions. We ordered the Pho. One was the chicken and the other was the tofu/veggies with veggie broth. They were able to provide a veggie broth for the vegan.
Soup sizes were small or large with a $1 difference. I got the large and my wife the small.
The pho hit the spot. Tasted great. There wasn’t to much of a difference in size. I could’ve gotten the small and still been ok.
I was disappointed at the prices. The base price for the veggie pho was $15.99, then they charged an extra $4 for tofu. Kinda upset considering all the other pho options had a protein already in them for no upcharge.
The restaurant didn’t look Vietnamese inside. It seemed as if they took over either an older Italian restaurant or a Mediterranean one of some type.
Overall the food was good but there are cheaper options with just as good flavor in the area.

I wasnt impressed. The spring rolls were OKAY. Lacking veggies for sure. The pork in the spring rolls were greasy and had a weird flavor on it not sure what they cook it in. They dont have any kids portions, so I had to order an adult plate for my toddler which made the bill for me and my toddler much more than I had wanted. He had the chicken fried rice, which had the same weird flavor as the pork but wasnt that bad I guess. I had the pho, the broth was too sweet for my liking and kinda lacked flavor and depth. The waitress was super nice! But probably wouldn’t reccomend the food.

I’m Vietnamese. This place is a San Antonio 3 and a Houston 1.5. Reason…the price….$16 for a regular and $17 for a large…whoa…and the portions were not the biggest either. I got a large pho and it had the amount of noodles you’d expect in a regular. To their credit, their broth is on the better side which is why they got 3 stars and not 1 or 2. The pho also took 10 min…which is not that long for regular food, but common man…one of the benefits of pho is that that broth is supposed to be hot and ready to go. I also got an iced Vietnamese coffee which was another $7! Total bill after tip and tax, $31 for one person!

Overall okay. Portions are normal size even for the large. The meat isn’t raw when put into the broth like traditional pho. The serving size for a large is more like a medium for $14.99 (anything over $11 a bowl is disrespectful in USA) prefer 2 other places with better pho and bigger portions but I am gonna gate keep

I used to love this place! But it has gone downhill bad. The prices have gone up so much- $17 for a large bowl of pho and $9 for four tiny egg rolls. The Pho had very little meat and a small amount of noodles too. I’m sad to say I have to find a new Pho place to frequent

Tried take away and in-house dining. The take away was really good. Went in for the restaurant experience and was a bit disappointed. All in all – Great broth in the Pho, best over 5 other Pho houses. They were very cheap on the veggies (basil and bean sprouts, not fresh) in-house but the service and management were very friendly.

Just like their name, the food here truly taste authentic. I was in San Antonio for work and was craving a home-cooked meal. A friend introduced me here saying that this restaurant has always been his go-to place for Viet food. I left with a happy belly ☺️

My first visit to Pho Nguyen and I was not disappointed. It was quiet on an early Saturday afternoon. Beautifully painted and decorated and so calm. I was between clients and needed to grab something quick so I selected the Banh Mi Thit Nuong – Seasoned Pork with veggies. The veggies were so crisp and fresh. The baguette was wonderfully toasted and the seasoned butter is what made the sandwich so, so good. I’m looking forward back to returning when I have more time to relax and sample more traditional menu items.
