Not a bad place to try, just not my “go to” place. Parking is a challenge with it being street parking in a touristy area but overall the food is not bad. Setting is casual; service was excellent. My wife wanted crispy spring rolls wrapped with romaine lettuce, which most places don’t do so we asked for some. The server was very accommodating although it was a different lettuce (no issue given our “ask” and they worked with us). With this she had pho (ok) and I had lemongrass chicken (ok).

Overall average experience. Broth was good but the meat was extremely tough and tasted old. Don’t think I’ve ever had meat this tough with pho and I’ve been to quite a few places. I also thought the size was small for the price compared to other places in the area. Probably would not come back.

Good food, very friendly service and reasonable prices are highlights of this new restaurant. The Vietnamese iced coffee was thick and strong and not too sweet. The Lemongrass Grilled Pork with rice was delicious. Tables were sanitized as soon as diners left. The dining room is large and social distancing is enforced. Masks are required for guests and staff. Very conveniently located in the heart of Old Town.

Fast and friendly service! They offer a wide range of authentic Vietnamese foods and drinks. The Pho is a must try! Broth is clear but doesn’t lack depth or flavor. The milk tea is also a personal favorite ❤️

Service was fast and friendly. The food was tasty. We spent $45 on three chicken/ beef pho bowls and spring rolls. Not bad. We will return. My kids enjoyed.

Came in on a quiet Friday evening and was greeted by the gentleman behind the counter, promptly seated and given a menu. I asked him about the salted lemonade, and he told me they pickle the entire lemon so it’s very salty. Boy he wasn’t kidding – it was like a sports drink; just what I was looking for!

I ordered lemongrass pork and rice and the food came out shortly after my drink. Pork was crispy and well seasoned, a big pile of shredded carrot and a healthy portion of rice rounded put the dish. Everything was hot, tasty, and brought out quickly.

I’ll definitely come back to try a bahn mi next time!

On the bustling main street of Old Town, Pho Nam stands as a culinary beacon, guiding food lovers through the vibrant streets of Vietnam. Stepping into Pho Nam is like stepping into a Vietnamese market, with the aromas of fresh herbs, simmering broths, and grilled meats filling the air, promising an authentic journey for your taste buds.

Our adventure kicked off with the Ca Phe Sua Da, the signature Vietnamese coffee that could wake the dead (or at least make them wish they had another shot at being alive to enjoy it). This potent brew, sweetened with condensed milk, is the perfect start to an epic culinary journey, setting the tone for the feast to come.

The Fresh Garden Rolls and Vietnamese Egg Rolls were like the opening act at a rock concert, setting the stage and getting the crowd going. These rolls were so fresh, they could have come straight from the garden and the fryer, ready to rock your palate with their crisp and vibrant flavors.

The Banh Mi Dac Biet was next, a classic house special sandwich that’s a veritable United Nations of flavors, nestled within a crisp baguette. With headcheese, Vietnamese ham, French-style pate, and a slather of house mayo, this sandwich is a masterclass in simplicity, balance and finesse, garnished with pickled carrot and radish, green onion, cilantro, and just the right hit of jalapeno to keep things interesting.

The Pho Bo (traditional beef noodle soup) and Pho Ga (chicken variation) were like big, warm hugs in a bowl. The beef pho was so authentic, it felt like a culinary postcard from Saigon, with its rich, aromatic broth and tender slices of beef, singing with the flavors of Vietnam. The chicken pho offered a comforting embrace, its clear, flavorful broth and tender chicken telling a story of simplicity and soulfulness, a testament to the comforting power of a good chicken soup.

Not to be outdone, the Bun Thit Nuong (grilled lemongrass pork on rice vermicelli) was like the summer hit you can’t get out of your head, with its smoky, savory pork and light, refreshing vermicelli making for a perfect harmony of flavors.

The Com Suon Nuong (grilled pork chop on steamed rice) was a great complement to round out the ensemble. A dish so satisfying, with its perfectly grilled pork chop and fluffy steamed rice proving that sometimes, the simplest things in life are also the most delightful.

Pho Nam is more than just a restaurant; it’s a ticket to Vietnam, offering an authentic taste of its rich culinary heritage. From the vibrant flavors of its dishes to the warmth of its service, Pho Nam is a gem in the DC metro area, a place where every meal is a celebration of Vietnamese culture. So, if you’re craving an adventure that’s both delicious and authentic, look no further than Pho Nam. It’s a pho-nomenal experience that’s sure to satisfy your wanderlust and your appetite, one slurp at a time.

Meh Vietnamese foods. We ordered pho, grilled pork chop on rice, cold cut special hoagie and a grilled pork hoagie. Broth and marinated meat were sweet and lacks flavors. The filling on the hoagies were stingy. I didn’t expect to pay that much and barely had anything inside the hoagies. Just a footnote, I’m Vietnamese so my expectation on serving size and proportion of meat/filling vs bread/rice is definitely particular. The only reason why I didn’t give a 1 star is because of restaurant location being conveniently downtown. Other than that. It’s a once and done for me.

They have interesting decor, but the table alone had a weird odor like they used a dirty rag to clean it. We had a #9 it wasn’t the best pho but it was definitely on the sweet side. I had also ordered a fresh lemonade ice tea which was actually really good but had sort of a gingery taste. Even tho it was slow they had forgotten to bring out another drink we had ordered.

I don’t eat Vietnamese food that often. But this place was recommended to me by someone who does so I decided to try it.
I believe the establishment is new. My husband and I came here for dinner. I thought we were going to share meals but that didn’t happen lol.

We ordered 2 shrimp rolls (1 order comes with 2 rolls) and 2 entrees. I had a chicken bahn mi and he had a noodle dish.

The food was so good and flavorful I had to run it back the next day. Since my initial visit, I have been here probably 5 times in 1.5 months. I was actually surprised at how flavorful the sweet tea was. DELICIOUS!!!

The food is good. I’m supporting local business. The only draw back is that its in Old Town Alexandria. Parking
