Food came out quickly, really great pho and wontons. Pho had ample amounts of meat and the broth was well seasoned! My fiancé loved the spring rolls, I thought they were different, but still made well. Cannot express how quickly our food came out. Cool bowl. See ya later

Hi, the fiancé here. What I thought about the spring rolls is this: delicious! Cucumber was thicker which made for yummy crunch. Overall well made and delicious.
Ok bye

We worked really hard on this review so plz like and share and go to the restaurant

Great pho place in dinkytown near uni campus. They have good viet food, pretty pricey though but they do have deals every Friday if purchased with a side, and they have other deals like going certain hours of operations like happy hour. The things I tried were the lean beef pho and egg rolls and it was delicious. Sometimes it can be busy and you have to wait to be seated.

I’m giving this place another shot.
They recently responded to a post on a separate page, where I called out price increases. They publicly stated their “small pho” is only $11.50 now. This was 4 months ago. They lied, because they don’t even have a small lean beef pho on their menu anymore. Their cheapest pho is the “no meat” which is over $14 after tax. Unfortunately, it is already not going well. The woman who I asked for a menu, was immediately rude. Speaking to me like I am incompetent. She refused to give me a menu to check out without being seated first. (To me, this is very rude)
They no longer have different sizes for their pho. In the past, you could choose, small or large, with about a $2 difference between each. Given how busy this place constantly is, I don’t think there’s any excuse for a $4 increase in prices. No matter what, you have to pay the higher end of prices now. Which is $15 for a bowl that you would more than likely find for $12-13 at other places. As I’m sitting here, writing my review, they are continuously giving better service to other people. The inflection in the servers voice is different given who she is serving. Anyway, I am going to try this $18 (after tax and tip) bowl of pho, that last time I ate a year and a half ago, was only $14.50 (after tax and tip)
As I’m sitting here, a customer walked out. Refusing to pay. Wrong for sure, but I think, a symptom of a larger issue. They got the person next to myself’s order wrong apparently as well.
To the food: My Laotian step mother’s family recipe is my baseline for how good the pho usually is. Pho Mai’s pho is awesome, which is why I do not give them a 2 star for the extreme changes to prices. I respect the hustle, but I don’t respect greed. You are the only pho restaurant in dinkytown, be fair!
Don’t air your dirty laundry and walk around telling customers about people robbing you, when you are doing the same.
I am not writing this to shame them. I grew up watching pho prices around the city go from $8-10 a bowl to $15-20 a bowl over the course of 15 years. This is a consistent issue. We need to do better.
If you have flush cash; I suggest coming through. If you are on a budget. I’m hesitant to suggest it. Especially given you will be spending a few dollars on parking already before walking in.
P.S. I use a full cup of chili oil in my pho. More spices = more healing. Thank you for the meal! My interaction on the way out was much more pleasant than on my way in.

I love pho and I thought this place was mediocre. Fast service and great location. Street parking can be a pain but we lucked out right in front. I wasn’t a fan of the egg rolls but they do give you a lot of broth for the pho.

A nice little spot! I ordered mi kho, and the fried chicken was excellent. Flavorful and crunchy! The shrimp wonton was also nice and crisp. My favorite part was the dark meat sauce on the side to drizzle over. It was very rich with umami! There is cilantro in both the noodles and broth, though it isn’t listed on the menu, so if you’re cursed with the cilantro soap gene like I am, you’ll have to request it without. The decor is minimalist modern, but everything’s clean and service is very fast. I’ll definitely come again sometime.

Update: I came back for bahn mi and chicken wings and I was thoroughly impressed! I ordered garlic wings and they had excellent crispy batter with great flavors and tender, juicy meat. The house special bahn mi was also great. I especially enjoyed the beef as it was well seasoned. The egg is also nice in it. I had another phenomenal dinner here.

3/22/25 – Wife and I came here for lunch after the bell museum and walker art museum was on the way. When we got here, there were a few open tables, not a full house yet, but servers looked really busy, cleaning tables, running around serving food, taking orders.
We got seated right away, but with how busy server were, we didn’t get our food order for around 10-15 minutes. After waiting around during
that time, more and more people filled the restaurant and it is now a full house.
We both order pho dac biet and I also order a Vietnamese coffee and bahn mi to go. It seems like 1 person was cooking in the back as it took awhile for us to get our food. A family of 3 came in after us got their pho first, but took awhile for the
3rd person to get their rice platter. After a while we finally got our pho.
The pho was good, broth had a good meat/sweet flavor, meat tasted good, not the best pho I’ve had but better than most. The only sauce condiment on the table are siracha and hoisin sauce, not sure if they have more stuff in the back, we didn’t ask. We ate quick and left as we only had an hour on the meter.
Overall good food, service was a bit slow, but they were apologetic. Maybe next time I’ll go try the one in Asia mall to try it out.

I already called and complained that our Pho absolutely sucked & they gave me a refund. The noodles weren’t cooked, the broth wasn’t hot.. I ordered pick up. I was starving and looking for a nice bowl of pho. My husband is in the U of M hospital so I brought him a bowl, his is the same way.

Update: Tell me WHY I JUST FOUND A PIECE OF SHARP PLASTIC IN MY NOODLES!! I spit it out and threw the whole thing away. This is wild.

Been eating here regularly for years. If you’re going to raise the prices, please at least work on consistency. The bahn mi is a hit or miss and more often a miss now. Pickled veg has no flavor, I keep getting old cilantro that looks like it should have been thrown out and less pork than before. Used to be much better/flavorful and more consistently better.

This is my first time leaving a review ever. In a time where food prices feel adversarial, I leave this place with a full stomach and no bad taste in my mouth. I go in, buy pho, get it fast, chow down the noodle and meat, and still have a gallon of pho left to drink on. Service is just right, not too much and not too little is asked. Very flavorful and fresh food, I am happy to spend my money here, as I feel the food quality exceeds the cost, which I find rare nowadays. Great place to get a full stomach and smile.
