Great prices, AMAZING FOOD, friendly service. I got pho there, and my sister got a banh mi, and we both left happy. Also really good about food allergies

3 stars for Shellfood allergy reaction to a Pork Sandwich.

Update: rare steak pho also has shellfood in it :/

Very friendly staff and a very decent looking menu. Got a steak pho and a pork sandwich (to go order).

I have a shellfood allergy and I never told the staff there as I have never had a problem ordering meat dishes like this at places like this. That is on me. One bite into the pork sandwich told me that there was shellfood in it and I got nauseous and started to have an allergic reaction.

Called restaurant and they confirmed that they marinate their meat in fish sauce (which must contain shellfood for me to have a reaction like this), and that I never told them about my allergy. I don’t typically tell places about my allergy to save complications and because I typically know where shellfood can be.

So I think three stars for a review is fair. The food might be the most delicious in the world. The restaurant should not use shellfood as part of the seasoning for non-shellfood dishes, and they should tell people that they put shellfood in non-shellfood dishes. And yes, I should tell restaurants about my allergy even if I don’t order shellfood or anything fish or seafood related.

This used to be my favorite place to eat. After 5 years of being away I finally came back and my friend wanted a bowl of pho and I said I know a great place! Boy was I wrong! We walked in and we were told my the server to sit anywhere.

We both ordered the number 31, Pho Dac Biet as well as an order of spring rolls. It was about 15 minutes until our spring rolls arrive and about 30 minutes until we got our bowl of pho. The spring rolls smelled like they were rolled on a dirty rag. They smelled bad. They were also missing ingredients inside them. The pho broth was way too sweet, it had too much ginger. There was very little meat and they gave me half the noodles they were supposed to be in my bowl.

It’s clear they are choosing profits over quality now.. It was so disappointing because I remember this place once being the go to for pho. That’s not the case anymore…

We also had to wave the server down because she was not very tentative to us. I love supporting small businesses but when they deserve it. To give me half of what I paid for is just plain theft.

Overall. Dont waste your time.. there is better pho out there.. just make the drive.

Mixed feelings on this one. Pho was not bad. No Vega came with it which was odd. The noodles were great. The blend was good.

The Spring rolls were mostly cabbage. The fried rice was not bad.

Restaurant was dirty. Tables were not very clean. Chairs have finger stains all over.

Not much service. Family just chillin together at a table.

A Vietnamese restaurant with good food, service and a classic Asian family-owned vibe. We’ve made several trips and so far everything has been good. Our go-to dishes are the Bahn Mi sandwiches, Pho, and cold vermicelli salad with grilled beef.

Oh so delicious! It has THE best pho in Libertyville.

Just across the street from Austin’s in the strip mall you will find delicious pho of so many flavors (47) and plenty of Vietnamese dishes. To be honest I have had the spring rolls, Crabmeat Rangoon, and the Pho because they are so good, I do not want to try anything else.

The place is clean and airy without many frills but you are there for the 47 flavors of pho. You are greeted by some big smiles asking how many and where you want to sit. Pull a couple tables together for larger crowds. On cold days the warm pho brings them in so come early.

I am stuck on the combo pho with all the meats. The noodles are cooked perfectly and a stacked plate of accoutrements accompanies your pho. Thai basil, bean sprouts, jalapeno slices and limes. On the side garnish it with sweet Hoisin and Sriracha or make your own concoction. It does not matter how you make your phone but it’s a big bowl so just bring your appetite. Enjoy!

The food was delicious, I ordered a chicken pho and it was perfect!!

The service was a little slow, but granted they had a party of maybe 14 or so when my buddy and I went, none the less the service was on point.

The soup base from the pho was tasty and flavorful. It also came with a generous amount of beef and meat ball sliced into smaller pieces.

Very pricey. The dry noodle tasted ok but the beef was sour (rotten) and the broth was very salty. The egg rolls were ok but the price was very high, more than $8 for just 3 rolls. It’s not worth the price. I’m from one of the most expensive places in the U.S. They don’t offer discounts for military members. I don’t recommend this restaurant.

Used to love coming here but sadly this is another restaurant plagued by increased prices and smaller portions bordering highway robbery. A regular size bowl of pho contained the same amount of noodles as their children’s size bowl and there was barely any meat in their pho dac biet. The tendon was disgusting, not properly trimmed and the skin was still attached – they definitely did not use the good cuts. Chicken pho had chickens that was chewier than rubber – I am not exaggerating when I say this. It was terribly overcooked.

I can understand increasing prices due to higher operating costs – but don’t rip off your customers at the same time to try and make more money. There is a reason I stopped patronizing Vietnamese restaurants in the northern suburbs and I was reminded of it again today.

Better to make a drive down to Argyle to get Viet food. It’s more worth it even with the added time investment.
