More Pho adventures but this time in lovely Hemet, CA. To paraphrase a line in a John Denver song “I spent a week one day in Hemet”. Pho House is located off Florida in the Target Shopping Center. The restaurant itself is fairly large with plenty of seating. However, on this visit we were the only ones dining in the dining room. The layout is quirky and you will find strange things normally not found in the area people dine. Not to be alarmed as this reviewer found the establishment to be clean although a bit cluttered. Service was average at best which is concerning since we were the only ones dining. For lunch we ordered our traditional shrimp spring rolls and a bowl of chicken pho. To drink we opted for ice water from the tap. Food arrives fairly quickly but the pho came before the spring rolls. That is equivalent to receiving your entree before your appetizer. Pho is good but not great. Spring rolls were wrapped sloppy but tasted good as did the accompanying peanut sauce. Price was on point with other Vietnamese restaurants with soup priced at $15 a bowl and 2 spring rolls for $7. To sum this review up, my wife said “the food is good but not worth making another drive up here”.

We paid almost $40 for a order of shrimp fried rice and chicken fried rice. We always have enough to feed the family and this time they definitely cut back on the portion. I was very disappointed with the small amount of food that was given. This was one of my favorite places to come. I will definitely take my business elsewhere.

We’ve been customers of Pho House for a little while now. The food is impressive and the quality is consistent, which is a major plus for pho restaurants. Unfortunately the service this time around was lackluster. The server didn’t seem too friendly right out of the gate, and proceeded to tell us we can just get condiments from another table when we requested a certain sauce. The restaurant was not noticeably busy and the employee in question was more concerned about her phone instead of being polite and helpful.

Disappointed in Portion Size…Not Worth the Price!
I really wanted to like this place. The flavor was okay, but the portion size was unacceptable, especially for the price.
My wife picked up food for our family on Friday and paid $18 for the shrimp fried rice. When she brought it home, we actually measured it. The entire portion was just 10 ounces, barely 1 cup and 2 ounces of rice. That breaks down to $1.80 per ounce, or $14.40 per cup. And there were only 4 or 5 shrimp total.
To make matters worse, the to-go container can easily hold four times that amount, what we’ve regularly received from other restaurants for less. You can literally see the bottom of the container through the rice. I’m posting photos so you can see exactly what we were given.
My wife, who is not a confrontational person, politely asked about the portion size. The man responded, “It’s a lot, the bowl is big.” That response was dismissive and inaccurate. It was not a lot, not by any reasonable standard, and frankly, not even an appropriate portion size for a restaurant meal.
I’m a doctor, and we host Food Fridays where we bring in food to support local businesses. We also have several major events coming up that require catering. I was strongly considering using this restaurant, but after this experience, that will not happen.
What’s especially disappointing is that I was referred here by another Asian coworker who said the portions were generous. My wife is not Asian, but I am, and honestly, I can’t shake the feeling that this may have played a role in how she was treated. That makes this experience even more disheartening.
We were ready to support this place. They’ve now lost our business for good.
If you want good food and fair value, take the short drive to Beaumont. You’ll get a better experience all around.

It’s a great pho restaurant, we really enjoy the beef fried rice (sometimes it’s a bit too much onion but they are incredibly accommodating when we request no onion). The customer service is also great, they’re honest when asked about food or drinks and never make me feel like I asked a dumb question. The place itself is also open and very clean, which is just the cherry on top. It’s great for there AND to go

For the first time in a long time I believe there’s competition for the Vietnamese market as far as food. It was delicious it was fast it was really really hot and it was a great selection it was not a big selection but what you got was good and to me if you’re eating Vietnamese food you eating for the taste and The taste was great. There are other Vietnamese restaurants about to open up or coming to this particular area but I didn’t know this one was here until I placed in front of. Is something that I missed out on should have been going there when I first got here. But as it goes I have had Vietnamese food before and this was very delicious. Brought me back to a time when I was there. I would suggest that you go through this place you will not be disappointed.

Love the sauce used in the stirfry. It was not so sweet/ salty and not thick. The vegetables and tofu cooked to perfection with the sauce. Definitely will go back. There are restrooms for customers, dining area is large and spacious, clean and well kept. Prices are affordable. Vegetarian options.

Pho tasted ok, bit pricey at $9 for a kid size bowl which left me hungry after eating.. Just a thought but noodles are pretty inexpensive; overload the bowls with em and people will feel they got value for their money. There are quite a few pho places in the area and 2 within walking distance; big restaurant; ya’ll might want to step up your portion sizes.
