Stayed in Winnipeg for five days and ate here twice.
The location is convenient. The rare steak and brisket pho was decent.
On the first visit, I ordered BBQ beef short ribs with vermicelli; on the second, grilled pork and grilled prawns with vermicelli.
The meat portions were slightly small but acceptable, and the vegetables were fresh.

I am compelled to share my disappointing experience at Pho Hoang, previously my most preferred Vietnamese restaurant in Winnipeg. Upon entering at 3:49 PM, my husband and I were seated, and we began conversing. Shortly after receiving our menus, the waitress returned within 15 seconds, inquiring if we were prepared to order. After kindly requesting more time to peruse the menu and engage in conversation, she returned 10 seconds later with the same query, despite our not having opened our menus. Her subsequent remark, ‘Are you just here waiting for the bus?’ was perceived as dismissive and presumptuous, given that we had arrived by Uber from St James. This comment caused significant discomfort, prompting us to expedite our departure, ordering another Uber after a mere 2-minute stay, between 3:49 and 3:51 PM. Fundamental hospitality standards dictate that customers be afforded adequate time to review menus and place orders at their leisure. The assumption that individuals are waiting for public transportation, voiced in a public setting, is unwarranted and reflects poorly on the establishment’s service. Regrettably, our experience has led us to conclude that Pho Hoang may no longer be a viable dining option for us, as effective hosting appears to be lacking. Please do better and don’t make such hasty assumptions!

Love to their Vietnamese Food here. Good food and good ambiance.
Have been here couple times. This time we try their Rice menu dish, Grill Pork Chop on rice and BBQ beef Shor rib on rice, we change the rice with fried rice. It was awsome. Also try the Grill Pork and Springroll on Vermicelli. Last time we ate the Honey walnut prawns and their Vietnamese coffee and Fried banana with coconut milk.

I began coming to this place as a recommendation from many locals and was told the lemon grass chicken is a must-have. I have now tried both the lemon grass chicken and the chicken pho, both of which I would give a solid 8.5/10. The portions are great, the lemon grass chicken is super good and I enjoyed the sauce that accompanied the dish as well. They are also super quick to make the food!! I would definitely recommend if you are looking for a quick takeout place that is on the healthier side.

This place is amazing!! THE BROTH for the PHO IS 11/10!! Menu #42 & #41 – lemon grass chicken and bbq beef short rib are THE PROPER PORTION SIZE aaaaand the flavor is ridiculously good! I’d come back here for dinner. Lunch wasn’t enough!! This is better than a lot of places in Toronto – glad I stopped over here!

Nice restaurant, decently priced. I had rare steak Pho and spring rolls. It was an excellent lunch, if you’re in downtown Winnipeg I definitely recommend a visit.

The good : Friendly service, nice atmosphere, spring rolls and noodles in the chow mein were tasty.
The bad : for $18 the chow mein was on the smaller side of portions Ive had at other restaurants and mostly noodles. The chicken was small, dry and bland and vegetables were almost non-existent. Very tiny pieces of broccoli and some cabbage.
The spring rolls were fine, they’re deep fried like anywhere else. The sauce they serve it with, was bland and wattery. I ordered a peanut sauce to go with it because I’m a sucker for peanuts sauce, and I was, fine neither bad nor memorable.
I probably wouldn’t come back. The amount of vegetables was disappointing and chicken was too dry.

I had the Shanghai noodle beef stirfry and it was seriously amazing! I am a bit of an enthusiast of Shanghai noodle dishes and this was by far the best I’ve tried in years. I’m visiting Winnipeg for the holidays and I would 100% go out of my way to eat here again on my next visit. Three thumbs up.

Wow, what a fantastic restaurant.
Very impressed at the delicious flavours and how well cooked everything is from this place. One of the best Vietnamese places I’ve ate at in the world.
The decor inside is very nice and cozy and the service is very courteous and great. There is a great selection of food on the menu and was quite amazed to see the wonderful drink selection too.
