Oh my God this place is absolutely incredible. This is a place that I want to gate keep that’s how good it is. I’m actually kind of scared that some influencer comes here and blows this place up because if this place had the recognition it deserved there would be lineups out the door. Even when we got there it was pretty full I would say 80% of all the tables were taken. Everything was extremely fresh and portion sizes here are humongous. I’m not even a big fan of sticky rice but the sticky rice with crab was out of this world I haven’t seen any other Vietnamese restaurant have this it’s one of their house specialties. The beef salad was to die for the flavor the freshness the thickness in the cut of the beef everything was perfect. This is definitely top three best Vietnamese restaurants in Canada that I’ve ever ate.

Our family has become regulars at Pho Golden Star. The portions here are incredibly generous and well worth the price. My personal favorites are the Bún Đậu and the blood sausage (Lòng Dồi)—absolutely delicious and authentic.
We used to eat at Pho 90, but honestly, as they got more popular, I felt the quality started to slip and become inconsistent. For instance, their Bún Chả Hà Nội portions kept shrinking over time. That’s why we’ve officially made the switch here.
What really sets this place apart is the vibe. I recently visited with some friends who own a Thai restaurant, and we were all impressed. The Lòng Dồi is prepared perfectly with no unpleasant odor at all. Also, the young staff are wonderful—always smiling, polite, and genuinely happy to see customers.
As a business owner myself, I can tell when a proprietor truly puts their heart into their food. I have no connection to this shop and wasn’t asked to write this; I just genuinely believe they deserve more recognition. If you’re looking for quality food made with heart, please give them a try !!!

The service was very good.
The restaurant is decorated beautifully, set up to celebrate tet!
We ordered:
Bun Bo hue : 7/10, was not as spicy as it should have been. Very aromatic and tasty broth. Lots of delicious bits.
Bun rieu: 8/10 very delicious with lots of fresh ingredients
Grilled chicken on vermicelli: 9/10 very good flavour with fresh ingredients.
Over all a good experience. I will have to come back to try more of their menu items.

If you’re hungry, come to Pho Golden Star! The food is incredible and the portions are absolutely huge. We ordered the Large Pho and it was more than enough for two people to share comfortably.
The price point is around $17–$20, which is a total steal considering the massive serving size and quality. The restaurant itself is very clean and has a big, open space so you don’t feel crowded. To top it off, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming.
I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommended!

This is one of the best restaurants in Toronto for authentic Northern Vietnamese cuisine. The flavors here truly capture the essence of traditional Northern-style cooking.
The bún đậu mắm tôm is a standout — the portion is very generous, the ingredients are fresh, and the mắm tôm is well-balanced, fragrant, and not overpowering. Every component comes together perfectly, just like how it’s meant to be enjoyed back home. Beyond that, both the soups and dry dishes are consistently delicious, well-seasoned, and clearly made with care.

The spring rolls were delicious! The portions are also big, so one plate can serve at least 3 people.
The pho was very tasty! Even with the medium size, the serving is a lot (which I’m not complaining about because I had delicious leftovers for the next day).
They’re the perfect food to eat in the cold weather.

I’ve been coming to this Vietnamese restaurant for dinner regularly, and it has never disappointed. The atmosphere is cozy, the staff is always friendly, and the service is fast even when the place is busy.

Golden Star Pho really impressed me! The pho tastes amazing — rich broth, tender beef, and super fresh herbs. The service is so friendly and caring; they make you feel truly welcome. A cozy spot that deserves all 5 stars!

Nov 2025: Ordered the P4. Pho tái nam, S4. Bún riêu cua, and the Thai milk tea. Note that the overall reviews and rating of this restaurant may be impacted by a promotion they run where they give you a free mini dessert if you write a 5 star review.
P4 Pho special was okay in my opinion. The broth was disappointing because it was sweet and not spiced. Lime was required to balance out the sweetness. The brisket was tasty – raw beef and tripe were okay.
The S4 broth had quite a strong shrimp paste and fish sauce flavour. The tofu and blood pudding were tasty. Would recommend if you’re a fan of all the above flavours.
The Thai milk tea was too sweet for us – in hindsight we should have asked for half sweet, but it didn’t occur to us since we hadn’t had one this sweet before, but otherwise it tasted good.
Staff were nice and attentive. They also served warm tea which was great on a cold day.

Wanted to try this place since it’s so close by. Absolutely, loved it. Especially, the spring rolls. They were so yummy and the portion was even better. The pho was great as well, slightly different taste than what I’m used to, but overall it was fresh and tasty.
