I tried the chicken pho at Pho Ga Thanh Thanh while visiting Philly, and it was fantastic. The broth was light yet deeply flavorful, with clean, comforting flavors that hit the spot on a cool day. The chicken was tender and fresh, and the noodles had the perfect texture. Highly recommend if you’re craving authentic chicken pho that hits all the right notes!

Got here when opening and got seated right away. The place looks to seat about 40. It was busy with patron even ordering extras for take out.
We ordered 1/2 chicken, 2 large plain pho and ice coffee. The chicken was nice and moist. The broth was clean and delicious. The side dipping sauce was a tad salty tho. It did have a nice kick.
We shared this with our two kids (6/8) and it was sufficient. The bill was $35+ tips, not a horrible price for a great breakfast. This is one of the better meals for our trip to Philly. We will be back again! Until next time..

A friend suggested this restaurant for my Philly visit, and it did not disappoint. I think for phở gà (chicken pho), this is as good as it gets. They have no menu because this is their only food offering (though it appears they also sell whole cooked chickens). You can get sugar crane juice for drinks — it was also good, even though I did wonder if it was real juice or just flavored. Anyway, I was here exclusively for the chicken pho, and I loved it, so 5 ⭐.

If you are going to eat here, make sure you do your research first! Pho Ga is their specialty. The only thing they need to know is if you’re going to do a full chicken, half, and how many bowls you’re going to order. The service was instantaneous. We got our bowls of pho within 5 minutes of sitting down.
I’m not usually the type to order Pho Ga, I’m personally more of a Pho Tai Bo Vien girl. I thought the pho was pretty decent here. I would come again for the convenience and quick service, but food wise, I would prefer eating somewhere else for pho tai.

seems like a family owned restaurant! I’ve never had chicken pho before so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but the broth was fairly similar to beef pho but cleaner. Their pho bowls are one size only, but it is very large. We got two bowls of plain pho with 1/2 chicken the first time we went, and our total was about $40-$50. 1/2 chicken was definitely a lot for two people, so we ended up getting 1/4 chicken today (total of $27) and it was the perfect portion. They serve cold tea, which was very nice and refreshing. Parking is difficult to find on weekends, but the lot is generally empty on weekdays.

Pho Ga is a different kind of dining experience. You walk in and are seated — sometimes at a community table with a handful of other pho lovers. Request a regular bowl (its very large) or a large bowl (absolutely gigantic). Choose a quarter (rec. serving for 1), half, or whole chicken. Within about 1-2 minutes of placing your order you’ll have; a steaming bowl of fragrant soup & rice noodles, a plate of white, dark, & organ meat, as well as all the delicious herbal, earthy, spicy, and sour fixings you need to make a perfect pho bowl. A server will bring out complimentary tea for the table— cold in the warm months and hot in the winter. I’ve heard a rumor that there is a menu with other items, but I’ve never seen it and I’ve never seen or heard anyone order anything besides Pho Ga. Of the half dozen times I’ve been here it’s been the same experience every time — speedy, fresh, and delicious soupy goodness. There’s something incredibly special about the predictable and delectable simplicity. Highly recommend giving it a try!

Best chicken Pho in town. Been coming to them since they were in Kensington. Definitely order chicken and pho separately!
We came in during lunch hour on a Wednesday and got seated right away. The chicken was super fresh and tender, pho was boiling hot and savory! They also offer white rice if you’re interested.

I said this was the best chicken pho place when it was in Kenzo and it still remains the best being located in south Philly. I haven’t been able to find another restaurant that can replace it, even outside of Philly.
They’ve made improvements from the previous location. Let’s address The elephant in the room, it is indeed in a better neighborhood. I had friends who were scared to go eat at the old location. This venue is bigger. The service is streamlined and they are able to get people in and out quickly. The food is prepared quickly and still fresh and hot. Oh, and they also accept credit cards now.
All positives in my eye. As for the food? It’s still the best for chicken pho and straight up chicken to dip in some sour, salty and spicy sauce.
