The restaurant was very spacious inside, with plenty of booths. The owners were quite friendly people who made our 3-pho, 8-spring rolls meal fairly quickly. The takeout pho came with big bags of bean sprouts, basil, jalapeños, hoisin, and sriracha.
I personally thought the pho broth was a bit lacking. I’ve been to Vietnam, and eaten pho all over Southern California, and there a a number of places I think have richer broth. A good pho broth takes 24 hours to cook.
But that’s not to say it was bad by any means—more middle-of-the-road. However, a highlight for me was the brisket. If I come back, I’ll probably try a purely brisket bowl. It was pretty flavorful. The spring rolls were great.
Owners are great, service is great, the restaurant is spacious and welcoming, and the pho is pretty good. It’s worth checking out I think—opt for the brisket!
Update: Came back today after a year or so away. I ordered online and they let me eat it in store, which was nice. I had the rare steak and brisket. I now can appreciate this pho with the owner’s original comments about the broth in mind.
The broth is lighter and clearer, so it misses some of that “traditional complexity” you might find in pho bowls across Vietnam. However, you can still tastes hints of anise and other spices, and it feels super clean. It’s a lighter vibe that still carries the hallmarks of long-stewed pho broths. Come try it out!
Honestly, you have to eat here or from here!
Totally unplanned.
While on holiday in the area for an event, we fancied some lunch.
Our 12 year old is picky and wanted a Subway, so I found the one a few doors down from Pho Fusion.
Me and the wife wondered up the few food outlets next to Subway & for whatever reason we popped into Pho Fusion.
The staff were so lovely, greeting us, helping us pick some gorgeous food.
We’d not had Pho before & will definitely have again.
Might even come back for something else from the menu before we leave!
Nom freakin’ nom
Shrimp Pho was awesome, one of the best broths I’ve had.
