Update-I appreciate a restaurant that cares enough to answer one customer. This was my first time there and I only tried one thing and the place was completely packed with people so I believe this wasn’t a true representation of the entire restaurant it was probably just a one-off. I will return and try some other items.
I ordered several different types of Vietnamese dishes during my visit; pork bao, Mi Xao crispy egg noodle seafood, and Vietnamese iced coffee.
Pork Bao: A 5/5! The pork with the spicy mayo sauce is a chef kiss. I love how well balance all of the flavors are in the pork bao.
Mi Xao seafood crispy egg noodle: A 2/5. I was quite disappointed in the taste and the egg noodle selection that they used for this dish. The egg noodle has a different taste and texture to it compared to the Chinese version of this dish where the crispy egg noodles are crunchy, solid, and compliments the sauce. The sauce in this dish was not that good unfortunately, it was quite salty to the point that it overwhelmed the rest of the seafood, vegetables, and noodle.
Vietnamese iced coffee: A 4/5. The Vietnamese iced coffee does has a strong bitter after taste like how it should be. However, I would say that I have had other Vietnamese iced coffee that was more balance and sweet without the strong bitter after taste. Still, the amount of Vietnamese iced coffee that I got was very generous at a reasonable price.
I was greeted and seated right away, their staffs were really friendly and attentive.
My food came out super quick! And it so absolutely delicious. Also cheap
It was perfect meal to have after being at the dentist all day, I definitely recommend stopping by for a quick bite!
I highly recommend Pho Bistro. If you’re in Slidell or passing through the area it is most certainly a top contender and a must try. Stop in and have a seat, you won’t be disappointed.
It’s unbelievable that a business would treat customers this way. I hope the owner sees this, because the service here desperately needs attention and improvement.
To the owner’s response: First of all, that Filipino waitress (or if she claims she doesn’t speak Vietnamese) is LYING. Shame on her. My wife and I speak both Viet and Eng and we dont have problems communicating with everyone there. This is not our first time to order food from her, so we know she doesn’t speak Vietnamese. My wife spoke to her in English and asked if we could sit on that table, and she said ok. You can ask the other waitress Tien that she told us to “sit wherever we like” and I heard that when walking in with my kids. OK, if you or that non-viet speaking waitress said we were ordering take-out, let me tell you what to do next. First, check your camera, if we ordered take-out, what did we order? Did we approach the cashier to order? If we phoned in, what number and what time did we call? What is our order ticket? I bet neither you or her can answer these. AND who would come in and sit down when ordering take-out? Nobody is that stupid…Second, Tien came by our table to give us utensils and menus. We were going to order with her because we already knew what we wanted. She said she cannot take order because someone else had to do it ??? Well, maybe I dont understand how your restaurant staff manage the work flow, but simply take the message and relay it to whoever is supposed to write down order. That sounds like a better way to handle the busy service time among the staff. Thats my suggestion for you from one business owner to another on how to manage your staff and business and also how to train your staff about CUSTOMER SERVICE. Lastly, I hope you would not take her words as we are stupid and do not know what was going on. I didn’t take her apology because she said that in a very rude and disrespectful manner.
