It’s been years since I’ve had Pho as good as I did today here. The pho was so flavorful, the ingredients tasted so fresh, and the noodles were perfectly cooked. And of course the meat was delicious. I got the P2 and my boyfriend got the P4. But the best part was probably the beef wrapped in grape leaves (the dipping sauce was so good I drank it when the beef was gone). Also we had the Thai tea and it wasn’t too sweet, which is hard to say for most Thai teas. Can’t recommend it enough.

I chose at random this restaurant to order Pho and Banh Mi via Uber Eats. I live in Houston where there is a lot of Vietnamese food but I was very surprised that the food here is very delicious. Especially, they pack very nicely and cleanly when I buy To Go, I can say it is nicer than in Houston. When I came back, I bought 4 Combo sandwiches to bring on the plane. I didn’t expect them to prepare so carefully that the next day they were still intact, so delicious! So delicious that now I still crave to eat more.

My first visit to Pho and Banh Mi Saigonese will be my last. I was deeply disappointed with the food quality and service.
My guest and I ordered broken rice, grilled beef as an appetizer, spicy noodle soup, and Banh Xeo—none of these dishes were palatable. The Banh Xeo had an off flavor and was made with chicken instead of the traditional pork. The shrimp was rubbery.
The grilled beef was extremely dry from overcooking, and the meat was so lean it had no flavor. It was heavily saturated with sugar and salt just to make it edible. Despite the menu description, there was no detectable lemongrass flavor whatsoever.
The spicy beef noodle soup was far from authentic. The broth had an artificial color to it, as if food dye had been added. In authentic bun bo hue, the red color should come from annatto oil (“dầu điều”) floating on top, not dissolved in the broth itself—unless food coloring is used. Additionally, there were no pork feet, which are essential to real bun bo hue.
The broken rice dish suffered from the same problems: dry, flavorless pork saturated with sugar and salt.
Worst of all was the service model. The restaurant operates as self-service, with customers ordering via iPad-like screens at the cashier counter. Since every customer use the same touchscreen to order you would think a hand sanitizer would be provided but no if you don’t bring your own you are out of luck.
During our entire meal, not a single staff member approached our table—no one even offered us water. Yet the system prompts you to add a 15-25% service charge at the time you place your order. Requesting a tip before the food is even served, much less before any service is provided, is absurd and off-putting.
No wonder the lone staff member present was inattentive, even though we were the only occupied table at 5:40 PM—what should be peak dinner time.
The customer utensils left on the table were also unsanitary. The chopsticks were just sitting there, exposed—who knows how many people had touched them before I sat down?
Overall, a thoroughly disappointing experience.

Pho & Banh Mi Saigonese is located in convenient location – a lot of parking spots (not free). Huge dining room with many wooden tables-seats, nice, clean, peaceful atmosphere and decorating nicely. As for service, they are OK. Anyway this restaurant the highlight is food, especially I really their grilled meat dish (pork, chicken, beef), they cook them very well. They also have variety and many selections – Pho Noodle, rice/vermicelli bowl and Vietnamese sandwich/bun. I tried all of them, they were delish and the price is very reasonable.

I was looking for a good spot to eat pho in Maryland and came across Pho & Banh Mi Saigonese. I have to say, I’m very picky when it comes to pho, so I was hesitant at first—but I’m glad I gave this place a try!
The pho here is top-notch, with a broth that’s simmered for 24 hours, giving it a deep, rich flavor that really stands out. The banh mi was also excellent, made with freshly baked bread that they bake every few hours to keep it crisp and light. You can really taste the difference!
The restaurant itself is clean, spacious, and has a nice atmosphere, making it a comfortable place to sit down and enjoy a meal. The service was great, and I was pleasantly surprised that the prices were very reasonable, especially for the quality of food.

We wanted authentic Vietnamese food, and again decided to visit Saigonese. Our favorite dish is the grilled pork banh mi (banh mi thit heo nuong). They also have good pho, strong Vietnamese coffee, and a friendly staff. Their special is buy five banh mi, get one free. We will be back!

They have the best bánh mì in the DMV and I’ve tried pretty much everywhere. Their bread tastes fresh, crispy on the outside, soft and not too dense on the inside. As close as you can get to the banh mi in Vietnam. They also don’t skimp on the meats, pate, butter, and veggies. A lot of places will charge way more for less but not here. I will happily drive 30min for them.

I walked into this restaurant on a whim, curious but nervous about the quality. I looked at the menu for a moment and shortly after placing my order received my food. The pho broth was flavored very well and a good size for a small bowl. I also ordered a banh mi which was tasty. I am glad I stopped in for fresh, quick and nice service.

Food was fresh, there just wasn’t enough of it. I ordered the V5 Grilled Lemon Grass Beef with Vermicelli and a Vietnamese Iced Coffee. The coffee was filled to the top with Ice. The total bill was nearly $20. They also didn’t seem to have enough staff for the lunch hour.
If you want Asian food with coffee just go to Panda Wok across the street and stop in Fruver afterwards. You’ll save at least $5 and get a more filling meal in the process.

This was my first time there, the food was so good! I ordered a gilled chicken banh mi, iced Vietnamese iced coffee, and bread rolls to go because I heard they make their bread fresh everyday … delicious! Had to order my boyfriend one when he got home.
The chicken was lemony and seasoned perfectly. The only reason I gave the food a 4 because I wish there was more chicken in the sandwich, other wise I will be back. Also, the iced coffee was delicious and strong. If you do not like super strong coffee I would suggest you let them know beforehand.
Overall, I would say this is a hidden gem in Wheaton.
