This platter costs $32.95 and just isn’t worth it anymore. While the meat was tasty, the portion size and quality have gone downhill. The meat slices were small and thin, the shrimp were cut in half and much smaller than before, and they even served old cucumber slices.
You can get a similar platter elsewhere with fresher ingredients and more meat for a better price.
The green papaya salad is tangy, refreshing, and appetizing. The shrimp is fresh and bouncy, and the combination with peanuts and fresh herbs is spot on. The fresh spring rolls are thin and chewy on the outside with a light, refreshing filling a perfect appetizer to start the meal.
Additionally, one of the female staff members left a strong impression. Although she wasn’t the main server for our table, she was attentive, always checking on every table and greeting customers with a warm smile, which made the experience even better.
Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience, and I will definitely come back again!
Overall, the food quality was good and the other servers were fine. It is certainly on the pricey end for Vietnamese food, but the ambience was nice. The quantity was sufficient as well.
But with the way the meal ended, it was quite a shock to say the least.
Pricing wise, they are more expensive than other pho restaurants and I think that’s why a lot of people don’t like this spot. The pho itself is good. The wings are not what I thought they were, more like BBQ wings.
Joints. But screw it I was curious . The sheer size had me feeling like this was a Vietnamese restaurant on the top floor of a Chinese mega mall in China. The portions were big enough and the broth was flavorful. Prices were higher than competitors but inflation hits different in Richmond. The service was friendly and also no nonsense. The fast food paced vibes, I swear made me eat faster. End of the day, this place was better than I expected.
While the vast majority of servers were considerate, one server (won’t call you out, Liam) smirked at us, repeatedly, after we were barred from the cake-eating. It may not have been out of malice though, because he seemed to have some neurological developmental delays
I heard from a friend that this place also has a branch in Toronto. The restaurant is spacious and comfortable. Since it was a weekday and not quite mealtime yet, it wasn’t very busy. I ordered the S-size special rice noodle soup — the portion was generous, and the broth tasted pretty good. I’ll definitely come back to try other dishes next time.
