Pho 83 is a reliable choice for Vietnamese noodle soups. Though the bun bo hue was enjoyable, the pho stood out more for its richer, more authentic flavor. Service is quick and friendly, and the casual, relaxed atmosphere makes it an easy choice for a comfortable meal. The booklet-style menu also adds a fun, visual experience, and it was nice to see a dedicated vegetarian menu for those interested.

Wanted to give a higher rating but tad disappointed especially with all the rave about the best pho. This place may have the best pho but their bun Bo hue leaves much to be desired. The pork knuckles were there. The color of the broth looked right but there wasn’t any depth of flavor in the broth. It was watery with some salt at best. They didn’t even have mam rouc (shrimp paste) which makes the soup better. The soup was a 2.5 but the 3 stars reflect the service. I was immediately greeted, asked if dine in or to go. The soup came out within 10 minutes.

One of the best pho spots in Hampton Road area. It never disappoints and I like my usual orders: p7 special Phõ (love the block of tendon), papaya salad, S1 Banh Mi, and A3 Summer rolls (include crunchy spring roll and bbq meat, outstanding flavor and texture). Everything tastes delicious and service is quick. Definitely a must try spot.

What a wonderful addition to the Newport News dining scene! I stumbled across this place quite by accident but I assure you that all other visits will be quite intentional. This place is nothing fancy, very authentic as far as I can tell, and the food is phenomenal! My husband’s chicken bacon Banhn mi was very quickly consumed, with many happy noises from his corner. My vermicelli bowl with roasted pork and spring rolls disappeared equally quickly. Everything was excruciatingly fresh and delicious, and portions are generous – I’ll get three meals out of my entrée. Service is quick and attentive. It’s not a super fancy place, but by golly, this food is the real deal. It’s going into my regular rotation – recommend !

I order here often because the price is great, and they have really yummy vegetarian options. Whenever i’m sick, I get their veggie pho for delivery. Definitely recommend this place if you don’t eat meat!

The chicken broth is so delicious. It is light but very flavorful. The portion is nice and the price is reasonable. The seafood pho is good as well. The seafood is fresh and they use pork broth. The summer sauce is nice. It is not to sweet and very nutty. staff is friendly. The restaurant is nice and clean.

The music was so loud I could barely hear my conversation. We asked someone to turn down the music, and she did which I really appreciated. Someone immediately came from back of house to turn the volume up. Disappointing, I normally liked coming here because it was generally peaceful

I would say this pho place is fairly good with their meals & broth is delicious ! The reason why I rated them so low is due to their hours being not transparent. Their door says 9. Their online hours states 8:30 but the business really shuts down by 7:30…. We went to dine in at exactly 8 one night and they were not taking dine in. The next day we came back in around 7 and they took us but by 730 .. we heard the employees telling the walk ins they are closed for dine in. By 8:10 , they were telling their phone orders that they are closed…. Their employee also decided to take a personal call and she was super loud to the point we could hear her talk about her night time plans … I guess their business model is super laxed but that’s definitely not common at all: I suggest the owners take consideration into just stating they’re closed at 7:45 everyday because that would make more sense then shutting down 1 hour from their disclosed time. I get everyone wants to go home but it’ll cause less confusion this way.

The Bon Bo Hue (m17) is so good! Best one I’ve had in Virginia so far. Makes me miss my parents cooking. Very reasonable prices. I will come back again with my husband.

My experience with the entrée was very positive, it matched the description perfectly. I see great potential for growth in the offerings. While I enjoyed the entrée, I didn’t have the opportunity to sample other items. A wider exploration of the menu will have to wait for another visit. I look forward to returning soon to further experience all that is available.
