Tried Pho 408 and was seriously impressed. Ordered the S3 sizzling beef rib combo and it was amazing. The beef rib was super tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The pâté was creamy, and the bread was real Vietnamese bread—not the usual baguette most places use, which I really appreciated.

I also ordered a Vietnamese coffee and it was spot on—strong, bold, and authentically Vietnamese.

The service was attentive and friendly. Our server Dustin was great—he kept checking in to see if I needed more water or anything else, which really made the experience feel welcoming.

Great food, great service, and authentic flavors. Highly recommend!

Pho was delicious and they give you large portions with plenty of meat. The soup was perfectly salty and a bit sweet, maybe too sweet for some but I liked it! The service was amazing. Very clean inside as well.

This is my second visit to Pho 408 in just three weeks — and let me tell you, it’s not even pho season, but the cravings were too real.

This time I sat at the bar — and that was the move. The owner, Natalie (a true culinary concierge), gave me the behind-the-scenes tour without ever leaving the kitchen. From how the tendon is simmered to how the fresh noodles are pulled daily, she made the meal feel like a guided tasting menu in the middle of San Jose.

Let’s talk broth:
The long rib pho came with a side of depth. Deep, rich, no MSG afterburn, just pure slow-cooked soul. The tendon broth? Silky, almost gelatinous in the best way — like it had been simmered down for generations.

The fresh noodles were a standout. Slippery yet chewy, they soaked up the broth like they had a mission — no factory noodles here. This is the kind of place where even the carbs show up to work.

I doubled back on the sizzling pancake and was not disappointed. Still crisp on the outside, airy in the middle, and that hint of coconut? Totally unexpected and completely addictive.

For dessert, we did damage:
• The mango tofu had the texture of panna cotta and the flavor of a tropical vacation.
• The Vietnamese donuts? Let’s just say they didn’t make it past the parking lot.

And the vibe? Spotless. Like surgical clean. You could eat off the bar if it weren’t already full of pho bowls.

We had crispy chicken pho and beef rib pho. They smelled very nice which were different from those of other pho houses. The food were tasty. It’s crispy chicken wasn’t crispy style. The beef rib was really good. The meat fell off the bone easily. And, I don’t feel thirsty after having its pho. Unfortunately, it doesn’t offer egg noodles for selections and no seafood pho, either.

The staff were friendly and nice. I asked which dishes were popular. He answered me “all” which was very well trained by the restaurant but not really helpful for new customers .

The space between tables in this restaurant were good. However, we happened to have a screaming kid on next table. It is difficult for me to say the noise level was good .

I recommend this restaurant. I intend to try its other dishes.

In my experience, this establishment offers exceptionally high-quality Pho, ranking it among the best in San Jose. Having dined here on five separate occasions, I can attest to the consistently delicious nature of the cuisine. I anticipate returning for future meals.

I used to only eat homemade pho because none of the restaurants I have tried nailed down the broth. Yet, when I first tried Pho408, I did not get disappointed. The broth is clear and slightly golden look, with a nice savory and sweet flavor to it. The meat used was definitely cleaned thoroughly, making the broth really stands out from other restaurants. The portion size is big, well enough to fully fill you, and can be easily split among 2 or more due to the generous meat portion size. Apart from the food, customer service and entertainment are a plus. The decorations gave me an authentic image of what a Pho restaurant would feel like + the clean environment that always pull me back. The staffs are extra welcoming and supportive to your needs during the meal. I would recommend this location to anyone any day.

I’ve been a regular customer at this Vietnamese restaurant, but today’s experience was very disappointing.

I ordered a $20 bowl of noodle soup(#19), and the amount of noodles I received was shockingly small — literally two bites, at least half of what they usually serve. I politely pointed this out to the staff and asked if they could add more noodles.

They did add noodles, but then charged me an extra $4 for it.

Charging extra to bring the portion up to a normal size feels unreasonable, especially for a $20 bowl. If portions have been reduced, this should be clearly communicated upfront. This experience felt unfair and not what I expect from a place I frequent.

Very disappointed and reconsidering coming back.

Tried this place on a recommendation from my daughter. One of the better Pho soup places I have gotton in South San Jose. Got the number 3 Rare Steak. One of the best things I like about it was the flavor of the meat and they were not shy with all the ingredients. Very hearty. Broth was a little greasy though. I will go back for sure. My daughter also says the spring rolls are great.

This is the best Vietnamese restaurant! The pho and the sizzling combo are especially amazing — the meat is so juicy and flavorful. The pho comes with very fresh meat, and the portions are generous, so you’ll definitely leave full. On top of that, the service is excellent. A full five-star experience!
