Food is fantastic, other than the one hair I found at the bottom of my plate of linguini.
Egg rolls are a must, the sauces they come with compliment the rolls in a unique way. The salty of the roll and the sweet, yet spicy of the sauce make an absolutely wonderful pair. On the plate with it, fresh cucumber and iceberg lettuce. Both absolutely fantastic as a palate cleanser.
The al dante linguini with sausage, tomatoes, and shrimp made for a tasty finish. The noodles not too soft, not too hard; the shrimp cooked to perfection. The sausage was just a little overdone, but I do enjoy the variety of textures.
The Vietnamese Iced coffee. Oh the iced coffee. What a fabulous option to have as a drink on the menu. The lovely waitress will bring it to you as its still filtering through , combining ever so slightly with the sweetener they use. It’s a sight I haven’t seen in a long while. The bitterness of the coffee, the sweetness of the cream, the ice, all mixed together make an absolute treat.
The staff is very attentive and enjoy pleasing all who come in.
All in all, PHO 101 is a quaint little restaurant that I do look forward to coming to again in the near future.
Ga Ca Ri a spicy, creamy curry chicken with white rice and a cabbage slaw with a tangy vinaigrette dressing. (Pretty spicy)
Kali Toa which is a spicy Indo-Fijian curry brazed chicken prepared bone in with some great flavored spices… Came with a side of chutney and two pieces of roti bread.
All in all it is a great addition to the small town of Port Orford.
Why only 4 stars? I would be more excited about the Kali Toa if there was more meat and less bone, my serving was half bone/half meat.
Look foreword to the next visit.
