Philomena’s is an absolute gem that delivers on every front!
The pizza, top tier, hands down! I ordered the Mushroom Pizza. It has persillade sauce and green onions. I added the Italian sausage, so good. Some of the best pizza ever!

Special shoutout to Rico and Kyle—these two are best in show! Their energy, kindness, and attention completely elevated the experience. It’s rare to encounter such genuine hospitality, and they made sure everything was spot-on from start to finish.

Whether you’re there for the pizza, craft beer or just the atmosphere, you’ll leave with a full belly and an even fuller spirit. Perfect therapeutic escape after a taxing day. Highly recommend!

I normally don’t leave bad reviews. So the fact that I’m bothering with this should go to stress how awful this pizza was.

A simple margherita. Shouldn’t be hard to get it right, no? No char on the underside. No gluten development, crust is completely deflated. Mozzarella is overcooked and rubbery. Tomato sauce was flavorless. My partner had their mushroom pizza and it was just as bad. Both pizzas went into the trash before the third slice.

If this pizza wasn’t cooked from frozen, I would be genuinely shocked. I guess that’s why you’re not allowed to modify the “house pizzas”.

As some other reviewers pointed out, this seems to be a consistent problem with their delivery as opposed to their dine in. Which wouldn’t be anywhere near as offensive if it wasn’t for how overpriced the Pizza is for the quality. Imagine paying $42 for what might as well be a $10 Digiorno.

I’m a bit confused. At one point in time I felt like Philomena was easily the best pizza in the bay, and from the photos in others reviews it looks like things haven’t changed, hence my confusion when my order arrives and it is soggy, oily, bready, and the ingredients taste cheep. Do your toast deliveries come from a different kitchen? If so, the quality isn’t up to what I’ve come to expect.
For now sadly, you’ve been taken off my 100% confidence endorsement food list.

My favorite pizza place in Oakland! Delicious pizza and the buffalo wings are so good! I’ve also had the tator tots. They have a great menu and the portions are big enough to share. Everything is clean and the staff is very friendly. This is also a great place to just go grab a beer after work.

We’ve lived in the neighborhood for over a year and I can’t believe we hadn’t visited here sooner! Before moving to Oakland, the wife, cats, and I lived in Chicago – where there is all sorts of good pizza, not just deep dish. Anyway, Philomena is up to par and has delicious pies, as well as beer and kombucha on tap. For this visit, we got the Miss Piggy with gluten free crust, which was great! We also had the kombucha (mint guava) which is delicious, and their wings which I would recommend. The chicken isn’t over fried or battered – just good chicken with good sauce. Looking forward to coming back!

Great neighborhood spot (and we dont live in the neighborhood). This was our teacher happy hour spot many moons ago. Good spot to watch a game or hang with friends. Tasty pizza/food, good beers on tap and friendly folks. Exactly the kinds of food businesses we want to keep around. Give them a try or visit them again if its been a minute (like it has for me.)

So my friend and I stumbled into this little neighborhood pizza spot, and honestly? I’m still thinking about that mushroom pizza. Like… how dare it be that good? Perfectly crispy crust, melty, earthy, cheesy goodness — basically a spiritual experience in pizza form.

But the real MVP? Our waiter. This woman was a dream. She let us taste-test a bunch of drinks (because clearly we’re indecisive and she just got it) and helped us land on the perfect choices. We also ended up bonding over our pets because of course we did — she was so sweet, funny, and just one of those people who makes you feel like you’ve known them forever.

Between the pizza, the vibe, and the A+ human interaction, this spot is officially my go-to. Already scheming about who I can drag here next. Highly recommend — don’t sleep on it.

I recently moved to the neighborhood and have been delighted to find such a cozy spot to grab pizza and watch games. I have also enjoyed attending the events especially the vibes at music bingo.

Shoutout to Tania who consistently provides outstanding service with precision and a warm demeanor!

Also highly recommend getting beignets or a scoop of gelato for dessert at the end of the meal.

This salad(picture) was $16 AND the pizza was also $16. Not sure how a very plain garden salad makes sense to cost that much. PLEASE I implore you Philomena, please lower the salad to a price that makes sense. I didn’t want to say anything while there because the girl working was very nice and was busy but if you all have huddles at the end of the night, I would like to ask if you can re-discuss the pricing of your garden salad, especially since mine was only greens with a few onions and tomatoes and shouldn’t cost the same as a whole pizza.
That being said the Vegan Garden pizza is good and very garlicky with a nice garlicky crispy crust! The salad is a salad. 🙂

I would say the pizzas are better than the burgers. The burger seemed a little dry (I went home and added some fig jam which helped a lot).
The mushroom pizza was pretty good though.
Only two tables with the outside seating but it’s nice the option to sit outside is there. Inside seemed pretty cool in terms of style.
Service was quick but the food took a little while to come out. Went on a Saturday afternoon and finding parking was no problem!
