Philly’s Best Pizza & Subs in Columbia, MD absolutely delivered! I had their Philly cheesesteak and it was SUPERB. The meat was tender and flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and loaded generously on a fresh, soft roll. The cheese was melted just right and every bite was packed with flavor.
You can tell they take pride in their food. Fast service, great portions, and everything tasted fresh. If you’re in Columbia and craving a real deal cheesesteak, this is the spot. I’ll definitely be back!

Hot, delicious, and diverse menu! Philly’s Best is one of the best kept secrets in Columbia MD. When we moved to the Thuder Hill community 2 years ago, we were so excited to have a pizza and sub place within walking distance. My favorites are the fish platter, chicken cheesesteak sub, and their Philly style pizza . The portions are great, the service is kind and quick, and the venue gives cozy, small business vibes! I’ve been ordering from this place for months, and the food was decent—until now. My last order was two 12-inch subs. They sent two 8-inch instead and still charged me for the 12. When I called, the guy said the manager was busy and to call back, then slammed the phone down.
I got an email saying I’d get a credit, but a week went by with nothing. Then someone called asking for my card number over the phone because they “couldn’t process the credit.” Sorry, but I’m not giving my card info to anyone over the phone. He said then they couldn’t issue the refund.
So, basically, they overcharged me, hung up on me, lied about a credit, and then wanted my card number to fix their mistake. That’s not how you treat customers. You just lost a loyal one.

I regularly order the chicken fillet sandwich here, and it’s been consistently delicious. The freshly made salad and bread are a must-try. I’ve also had the pizza and cheesesteak, both of them were really tasty. If you’re staying in Columbia, I highly recommend this place.

I love this place. It’s a great spot to grab a bite and the staff are always friendly. The place has stayed to the same since opening and everything is original. The prices are original and the food is great. I always come here whenever I go out.

There’s a lot of pizza & cheesesteak restaurants in east Columbia, but I find that Philly’s Best is the most consistent with great food. The cheesesteaks are overflowing with meat and served on soft oven-toasted rolls. The pizza is always good, albeit usually greasy to the point that my wife insists on soaking some up with a napkin before eating. The wings (regular and boneless) are always a hit. They offer several specials and also online ordering. However, none of the specials can be ordered online. If they would add the specials to the online ordering system, they’d move up to 5-stars so that I wouldn’t always have to call to place an order.
