We’ve driven past the older strip center on Phillips Highway more times than we can count, never guessing a standout sushi experience was tucked inside. Philip Sushi doesn’t announce itself with neon or fanfare. It simply opens the door and lets the food do the talking. Within moments of stepping in, we felt that familiar Culinary Duo spark, this was going to be a good night.
Ambiance & Décor
Philip Sushi won’t be mistaken for a glossy date-night destination, but it’s spotless, well-kept, and comfortable. The room reads “classic neighborhood spot”: tidy tables, a calm sushi bar, and the hum of regulars who clearly know their favorites. We wouldn’t pick it for a big anniversary, but we’d absolutely pick it for a relaxed, satisfying meal where the focus is on what’s on the plate.
Menu & Drinks
The menu is surprisingly extensive; one of the most varied we’ve seen locally, with creative specialty rolls that blend textures and flavors in playful, memorable ways. That breadth is a promise the kitchen keeps. We also appreciated the reasonable drink prices, making it easy to round out the meal without second-guessing.

We always look for something distinctive to kick things off, and at Philip Sushi it was the fried basil appetizer; a crisp, aromatic surprise we’d order again in a heartbeat. On this visit (our second), we intentionally sampled a cross-section of signature rolls, and the throughline was obvious: quality fish and generous portions. If you’re used to skimpy fillings, you’ll be happily surprised. The rolls arrive well composed and photogenic, but never fussy. Each bite delivers clear flavors, clean, fresh fish; balanced sauces; crisp and tender elements in proportion.

So delicious. Thank you for a great meal. Everything was so fresh. I didn’t take pictures, I was starving and just wanted to eat lol. We ordered a bento box, and 6 different rolls. All of it was made to order and was worth the wait we did have. We used to come here all the time years ago and today was the first time we visited in a long time. It brought back memories and it was great to see everything still the same. We will definitely be back.

I have to say..we stopped of for a quick lunch as we were headed south on I95…and we decided to get some sushi..this place came up so we have it a try…we had some Edamame to start and got 3 rolls for lunch..I have to say the rolls were some of the best we have had in years..the food here is amazing and my son and I highly recommend…stop by and get a few rolls..you won’t be disappointed. Atmosphere is perfect for the location.

MUST GO! Stumbled in on this place. This place was incredible. Small inside, but cute and warm. Super clean and the staff is super friendly. Now on to the food. Hands down the best Miso soup I think I have ever tried. Then we ordered the sashimi dinner and 4 specialty rolls. It was more than enough- we even had take home. Definitely going back. Can’t wait to try something new.

First time here tonight and everything was great. The atmosphere is warm, small, and cozy and was not loud when walking in. The music in the background was relaxing. The service was great and our waitress was very attentive. The food was great. I ordered the spicy crab meat rolls, fried chicken as appetizer, and I’m sorry I don’t know the exact spelling of the ramen but it’s the tonkatsu soup (it’s the only soup that starts with T). We also tried the volacano rolls which were amazing. 10/10 for everything even the yum yum sauce was good and I definitely judge sushi spots based on that sauce. Lastly we tried the tempora ice cream which was fried ice cream *chefs kiss*. Everything was affordable and decent portions. Will be back and our new spot.

Update 3/7 … just ordered again and as always, great presentation and taste. Two small issues tonight. One was that the deep-fried roll that we ordered was packed in the same bag as all of the raw sushi which caused a minor temperature issue. Also for five rolls, we only received three very small packets of soy sauce. When we called the store, simply express some customer feedback, it didn’t seem like it was understood perhaps due to a language barrier or a cultural barrier. However, even with all of this, we will continue to order from here because their food is very good.
Update 1/18… just ordered again. Another win… nicely packed and presented. And, again, consistently very good! Our new go-to in the area!
Have ordered from here several times via DoorDash! Always prompt, we think the food arrives well packed… plenty of soy sauce and chopsticks. And, the sushi is not only very good but very reasonably priced.

This place has the best everything. I’ve tried it all, from appetizers to sushi and hibachi. All the food has really good flavor. They have the best fried rice and soup hands down. The chicken hibachi is amazing and very flavorful. They also have the best sushi in my opinion. It’s not overpriced at all either. Also, I always get quick and friendly service.

Definitely worth coming back! The sushi we tried were pretty fresh and tasty. We had the the yellowtail jalapeño appetizer but forgot to take a picture :(, the sexy girl roll was my favorite, the Friday roll, and the ocean roll.
Nice peaceful ambiance with piano music. The service was excellent, we came after lunchrush.

I have been coming here for a while. Recently, I have been enjoying Phillips sushi a lot more! Everytime I come here, the food is always very consistent. The Spicy Crunchy Krab roll is to die for, and I always find myself ordering at least one. They also have platters with different variety of rolls, so you can try out many different rolls. The platters are also good for a family, and affordable to feed everyone. I highly recommend this place if you’re a sushi lover.

This is the only place I eat sushi! The salmon crunchy roll, the volcano roll, and the firehouse roll are my go to rolls. But all the food is good there. I haven’t had one bad thing!
