Had a very bad experience for the 2nd time. I ordered combo #1
Pancit and Beef calderita. A Large chocolate pork . BBQ sticks I told them I wanted 2 chicken and 2 pork and label it out .
This is exactly what I got . Packed All in 1 . I can’t eat pork but my family does . I was craving for bbq skewers that’s the whole reason I stopped by . Spend $54 and didn’t get to eat anything from there . Coz I have food allergies and that was the only think I could eat from this place .
I even called them several times left them a mesg . No answer
I dont recommend anyone with food allergies to go to this place .

Food court located in Island Pacific with delicious food. A little difficult to communicate if you don’t speak tagalog and don’t know what the dishes are but definitely worth it. Aleays busy so you know it’s good!
Parking outside of the store can be difficult during peak hours.

Taste of home with every bite Definitely recommend their Pork Sisig. You can dine-in, take-out, especially with their combo choice meals or even order food trays for parties and gatherings. They have classic Filipino dishes that – try their Pork BBQ, Kare-Kare, Monggo, Beef Steak, Chop Suey, and so many more other choices. We’ve yet to try their Silog options for breakfast favorites. Also, their portion sizes are good for sharing combos or meal planning for the week.

Overview
Sometimes you just crave filipino food, there is not an abundance of it in Sacramento for the most part. I have yet to find a “the place” for filipino food in Sac, purely based on my own taste buds. It’s a simple, ready to order by combo type place. It’s tastes and feels like fast food filipino food. Does that make sense?

What I ordered
BBQ Chicken skewer, BBQ Pork skewer, Pancit, Adobo and Sisig.

Pros
Portions are healthy. All the food is laid out in front of you, the line is clearly marked. Additionally, you can order combos or single items, up to catering sizes. Seems like the popular dishes are stocked and ready to go. Service was quite quick.

Cons
You have to kind of know what you are getting, the line moves pretty fast when busy around lunch. While they have names for the food, they do not have descriptions. Additionally, food items are separated so it is not as easy what constitutes as an item you can have in a 2 or 3 item plate. Cleanliness can use some work though.

Tips
1. The two item combo is enough food for 2 people AT LEAST, maybe even 3 people. Portions are good here!
2. When in doubt, go with the bbq skewers – they were my fave (and the ‘safest’) in my opinion.

For Thanksgiving, I ordered Filipino food to introduce my cuisine to my husband’s family. We ordered from Philhouse because we’ve been driving to Elk Grove for the last 2 years now because of how good and reasonably priced this place is so I trusted that the quality would be the same.
I was right. We ordered pancit, fried chicken, lumpia and pork adobo (the green beans I made myself lol). His family loved it! Adobo was a hit (as usual).

From previous experiences, the food here is like how you would get in in a family dinner setting in the Philippines. It tastes and feels like home.

As for service, I speak Tagalog and I it’s not frequent that I get to speak it so whenever I come here and get to joke with the Ates while ordering food, it’s always such a nice time and makes me less homesick.

I would recommend the following dishes when you visit:

Bicol Express (my husband is HOOKED)
Kare kare
Bistek
Pork adobo
Sisig
Sinigang

I cannot recommend this place enough. It’s inside Island Pacific too so you can do some grocery shopping when visiting!

A way to complete that Filipino breakfast! I say it’s a power meal in the morning as they cater a large plate at $5.99 serves you 2 of everything; cups of rice, eggs and main dish! Always keep coming back for that tapa. And to top it of, coffee comes free. Breakfast starts as early as 7:30AM.

All ratings are relative, as this is a turo turo inside an Island Pacific grocery store; adjust your expectations accordingly. staff was nice, helpful, and friendly. Bicol Express could have had a bit more chili heat, but I get that they can’t go too spicy. Laing was really not bad. Both notably were not too salty.

There stingy with roce; more so with food portions. Which is also low quality. Especially eggs for breakfast where yolk is more hard boiled consistency; very overcooked.

It’s our third time ordering food here; the rest of the staff is friendly and pleasant, and the food is fabulous, except for this lady; if you ask her a question, she will rudely answer you and be very sarcastic manner (it’s like I’m back in the Philippines ). And her shirt speaks the way she deals with paying customers
