Lovely spot with a cozy, neighborhood feel. The restroom was immaculate, which I always appreciate. The French onion soup is the real deal, deeply caramelized onions with that perfect sweet-savory balance and a generous layer of melted cheese. Fries were excellent too: natural-cut, crispy outside, fluffy inside, and clearly made with care. Service was friendly and attentive without hovering. Definitely a place I’d come back to.

This place was quite busy on a Tuesday night. They had trivia going on and I enjoyed the food. Bonus points for the waffle fries and they’re willingness to make them extra crisp before you! A fun pub and a great place to hang out.

Phebe’s is a super nice local Bar & Restaurant down in the Astor Place area of NYC. The service at the bar was great and our spinach and artichoke dip was awesome! This place is very dog friendly as well!

We stopped in here after a long day of driving and we loved it. They have a lot of great food options and drinks. The place was decorated for Christmas so that was an added bonus for us. We ended up bringing the kids back the next day for lunch. This is a must stop if you are in NYC and looking for a quick, easy bite to eat that is good for all ages.

Phebe’s is a fairly large tavern/bar –the crowd can be Bengal Fans during NFL season to a mix of college-ish and post-college crowds during happy hours and nights. haven’t been here for a minute — as rooting for the Pats here would be a no-no at Phebes…sorry Joe Burrow! ha. anyway, the space is a casual vibes tavern with two bars and has that warm dark-worn worn-in pub feel to it (yes, i know “pubs” and “taverns” are considered different, but that is my faux pas to own). it was all tastefully holiday decorated when i was there and i appreciate places that embrace the holidays and are festive. stopped here for a late lunch (who says breakfast has to be the most important meal of the day) when one can enjoy a quality cheeseburger and fries with a beverage. the Classic Burger comes with hand-cut fries. the burger is very good. a fat meaty well-seasoned burger patty on a sesame bun. ordered it medium-rare and no surprise, it was cooked proficiently with the American cheese being melty. lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles served on the side. while smash burgers are all the rage–traditional burgers like the ones at Phebes are still damn good and make for an enjoyable lunch. the French fries are hand-cut and fried to crispy goodness with soft potat-ey insides. the service was friendly enough and everything went smoothly from start to finish. forgot Phebe’s offers lunch and it’s a great option if you’re in the East Village and want a good sit-down meal from bar comfort classics like burgers to more ambitious plates like roasted salmon. the lunch vibe is a bit more chill and relaxed. but except the energy and volume to be up when it’s evening or after and couple in sports seasons as there are a good amount of screens here if you’re looking to catch a game while you eat or drink. and obviously there are a good amount of happy hour specials if you’re seeking an adult beverage after work! don’t sleep on the food, here, as Phebe’s isn’t just any old bar.

Is a typical pub/tavern atmosphere and menu. Everything was good except the fajitas came in a tomato sauce (we’re from Texas… what made us order fajitas in Manhattan!?). Service was friendly and fast. Food delivered all together and hot. With so many other choices will probably not be back, but it was a convenient location for where we were staying. The espresso martini was yummy (TY Happy Hour!). The beet salad was excellent (and huge); it was mostly arugula, but it was overall delicious.

A pile of nachos for $20 (more than enough for 2!) A delicious spritz flight for $24. I left full and buzzed. Staff was attentive even though they were slammed with football fans. Happy!

Denny made this experience so memorable. All the bartenders were excellent, however, Denny’s service and attentiveness went above and beyond. We’d recommend Phebe’s on our experience alone. 10/10.

Wasn’t expecting that! What looks like an otherwise nothing special spot was in fact a great and repeatable find! Solid menu options including super fresh salads and professionally poured Guinness. The staff was affable and attentive with a big shout out to our 5 Star server Liam! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This bar has changed and kept up over the years, They continue to upgrade the interior and keep it casual, the happy hour cocktail was good and you could taste the liquor. The staff were friendly and attentive. The outside space that ran along the bar is a good spot when it’s warm out, many bars sit back and do nothing that’s not the case here, and it pays off.
