Got the burnt end sandwich and it was perfection. Also got a side of mac n cheese with it and the mild BBQ sauce. Everything tasted so good. I’ll have to try the brisket and cornbread next time.

Frequently make the drive from Omaha to Lincoln to visit Phat Jacks. No burnt ends can compare! So exited for their new location – makes it even easier to jet over for lunch.
Visited this week for the first time at the new spot – glad to see things are running smoothly again in the new space and had a chance to try the burnt ends, brisket, and pulled pork with a friend.
We’ve also had an event catered – racks of ribs and Mac and cheese. Everyone raves about the food (plus plenty of leftovers for us!!!)
Great people, great food!!! I’ll be back again soon!

First Class BBQ – straight forward counter service that gets the best in the west BBQ out to you fast!…fair prices – fun mex fruit sodas & craft beers – they’ve got it all – Killer ribs – but also try the brisket – you can’t make it like this at home!! Big presence of loyal locals – you’d think it was the Nat. guard dining hall – if only! – lots of local contractors – so best time to beat the luncheon hordes is before 11;45 or after 12;30 – it’s good & busy! – Dig in

Absolutely amazing food! I’ve heard others complain the the food is dry but both times I went it was very tender and juicy. I got the big plate for at least 2 and it actually fed two of us twice! Great place to bring family and friends from out of town and let them experience some great brisket!

Great food with generous portion sizes. Under 20.00 gets you 2 sides and a drink. Ordered the turkey with fries and beans. Was a good meal. Best barbecue in lincoln.

Good stuff here. The sides were just O.K. (cole slaw and macaroni salad), the meats were excellent. I tried the Jack’s Combo, which had a little of their pulled pork, brisket and ribs. The brisket was a little dry, but had good smoke flavor. The pulled pork was tasty. The star of this dish was the ribs. I’ll be back next time I’m in town.

My favorite BBQ place in Lincoln! You have to try their apple habanero BBQ sauce it’s so good! The staff is always really nice when we go in, everything is kept clean, and I’ve never ordered anything I didn’t like. Reasonable prices. They have won a lot of awards for BBQ as well. The meat is very tender and my favorite side is their beans.

Stopped August 16th, 2020 and it’s still the best! My fiancé had the Brisket plate and I had the Burnt ends. Brisket was tasty as usual and the Burnt Ends were still the best out of anywhere in the country!

I am sorry but the food was horrible. What ever reputation they had when they first opened is gone.
The meat was dry
The sides were terrible
The kids behind the counter were nice
We ordered:
Brisket…. very dry, no flavor
Burnt ends….very dry, tough, no flavor
Mac and Cheese, over cooked and thick
Cheese potatoes… no flavor at all
Potatoe salad…..Taste like sysco…Plain
Macaroni salad….Taste like sysco….Plain
They don’t give cornbread like every other BBQ place in the world, they charge for it and it was horrible and dry….Petty
Instead they give this slice of dry bread that they rub liquid butter on it. Not warm at all..Petty
From having 25 plus years in the food industry and I was a Sous Chef… Also now I am training to become a Pit Master…
I knew the meat that wasn’t hot probably would’ve not tempted out.
Also like ever BBQ place or smoke house, condiments are located on the table at your ready. Not this place, you have to inconvenience yourself by walking to a make shift stand to get small cups of sauce that was also not good. No Lie
Omg and the sauces were Horrible also. Waaaaay to sweet and no flavor at all.
Someone needs to send a worker through a Culinary course IMMEDIATELY. To understand food and safety temperatures and cleaningness!
On a good note the water was good!
I wasn’t happy at all and sorry to anyone who want to visit this place. STAY AWAY!

The good: Nice staff, clean environment, love the self serve bbq sauce. The bad:over priced, mac and cheese was under cooked and covered in a bland white runny cheese sauce. Burnt ends were ok but reminded me of pot roast. Smokey flavor was very faint. Brisket baked potato was good and potato was fresh. Coleslaw is decent and tasted like pepper and poppyseed dressing. Would I go back.. maybe but it’s definitely not the best bbq in town.
