If you find yourself in Mexicali and love sushi with a creative twist, Pez Gallo Sushi & Ceviche is a must-visit. My husband and I went twice in two days—yes, it was that good—and we even brought friends along for a third visit in less than five days. Safe to say, we were hooked.
The sushi here is next-level. Every dish is elegant, huge, and packed with unexpected but perfectly balanced flavors. Out of the several rolls we tried, “The Boss’s Wife” was the biggest hit—an absolute standout. We ended up taking a plate to go to eat in our hotel room later that night! And let’s talk about the ceviche: incredibly fresh, beautifully plated, and full of bright, delicate flavors that made every bite a dream.
Beyond the food, the place itself is spotlessly clean, and the staff is warm and welcoming. The first night our server didn’t speak English but we used Google Translate on our phones, so no issues with communicating. The second night we had an English speaking server.
It’s rare to find a spot that nails both creativity and quality, but Pez Gallo delivers. If you’re in town, do yourself a favor and go—just be warned, you will want to come back!

Wow.. What a great place food is delicious. I’ve been here a few times when we come to Mexicali and everything I’ve had is awesome. You wouldn’t belive there Enchiladas de Mole are good because it’s a Cevichería but man they are so good. The ceviche is excellent very fresh and so many food options makes it hard to decide. Their brunch is really good with plenty of options.

Came in to try the sushi and the taste of the dishes in general was good the atmosphere is great. Fast service even when busy I was impressed. The Suchi had the Culiacán twist so it’s harder for me to say it was awesome sushi but definitely not bad.
