Food was GREAT! Service was top notch and attentive. My daughter left her ring on the table after wiping her hands off and forgot it. As we were getting into the car, a lady ran out to the parking lot to flag us down. Super sweet, genuine people. Thanks for making our first stop memorable. We’ll make another stop on the way back home (roadtripping).

We happened to be in Purvis around lunchtime and didn’t know the area, so we decided to take a chance on this local BBQ spot. Having lived in Texas, we’ve become pretty picky about our BBQ, but we’re so glad we gave this place a try! All our meals were delicious, especially the wings. Our server was very friendly, and we’re looking forward to coming back to try more from the menu.

There were 2 in our party. 2 different meals. The beans were stone cold. I don’t know if that was how they were supposed to be? The pulled pork was Luke warm. The brisket was dry, I drowned it in bbq sauce. And who charges for water?! I could understand if it was bottled but it wasn’t. No onions, pickles or jalapenos offered either. But I guess that’s Mississippi BBQ.

Update Oct. 2025:
We’re here just now again and I do have to say: I doubt that paper plates are cheaper, then buying real plates and use the dishwasher you most likely have for all the pots and pans. The plates get soggy quick and I didn’t enjoy my salad with the possibility of eating some paper. Also, I got charged for my water! What is that about?
Now I am doubting to come back here…. There are many other good bbq places. Sorry, but I don’t like being cheated out on my money and I think you can do better. The service was still good.

I’ve been eating Petunias for around 5 years and can confidently say that it was my favorite bbq joint I’d found. The brisket was some of if not the best I’d ever had and the pulled pork was top notch. I hate to have to make this review, but unfortunately in the past couple years my experience has declined. My biggest complaint by far is that all of the meat (with the exception of the wings) tastes like burnt plastic. It has gotten to the point where I have to pick out the meat from the specials. The outer charred bits of the brisket taste the most like burnt plastic. At first I thought it might be the styrofoam plates melting and getting into the meat but it’s not. I don’t know what it is but I hope they figure out the issue, but I can only recommend the wings at this point.

Very good bbq. Was up that way and wanted to try something new. Petunias did not disappoint. Good flavor and good portions. I particularly liked the ribs, pulled chicken, and onion rings. Also liked their sauce. Give them a try. I think you’ll enjoy.

OMG. What can’t I say about this place. Service was great, waitresses were awesome and attentive, food was one of the best BBQ I’ve had in a while. Food came out fast and hot . I would recommend the ribs and brisket. Will be back to try more. Bathroom and building was very clean.
