This restaurant is not simply the best French restaurant in the city — it is an experience.
Every dish is crafted with remarkable care and authenticity. The French onion soup is extraordinary, deeply rich and perfectly layered with flavor. The duck breast is sublime, tender and beautifully balanced, while the casserole is comforting, soulful, and memorable. The crème brûlée deserves special praise — flawlessly silky beneath its golden caramel crust, truly the best of the best.
What elevates this place beyond the food is the atmosphere. From the moment you step inside, you feel transported to France. The ambiance is intimate, elegant, and unmistakably French — as if time slows and you are dining in a small Parisian bistro.
The service is equally exceptional. The waiter was warm, genuine, and attentive, offering a level of hospitality that feels increasingly rare. This is one of those special places where you don’t just eat well — you feel truly cared for.
A rare gem, full of heart and authenticity. An unforgettable dining experience that stays with you long after the last bite.

Petrichor is an absolute gem of a French restaurant! I had an amazing time trying a variety of their dishes and drinks — everything was top quality, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The ambiance was cozy yet classy, and honestly, it felt like you could just stay there all night.
But what really stood out was the staff — the team were incredibly friendly, warm, and welcoming. You can feel they genuinely care about your experience, and that makes all the difference.
If you’re looking for a place with exceptional food, great vibes, and top-tier service, Petrichor is 100% worth the visit.

It’s been far too long since I last visited this gem and thrilled to have rediscovered it! The place has a fresh new feel, and the food is every bit as delightful as I remembered. Every dish, from appetizers to main courses, is a masterclass in Southern French cuisine. The service is exceptional, with the owners and staff taking every opportunity to make their guests feel welcome and cared for. Our family dinner was an absolute treat, served with a generous helping of warmth and hospitality.

Wow! This place is such a gem! If you are french and you miss home, go there! If you are not french and you want to discover french food, go there! We tried Petrichor for a dinner and we loved the place: food/Drinks are excellents and made with quality ingredients. I got the Magret de Canard and I can say that I didn’t eat such a good Magret since a lonnng time! The people there are really nice. As a french, from Aveyron, I didn’t know that it was possible to find a good Aligot in Vancouver… found it! We will come back for sure!

Had a great experience overall. Small and elegant place. Staff are friendly, food was fresh and portions were good. Only room for improvement would be the bread pre meal (pretty dry and left room for improvement). Everything else however was phenomenal including my main which was the Magret de Canard – Fraser Valley duck breast. Fun facts about the name:

A relaxing, calming milieu to enjoy authentic French dining.
We enjoyed the soup à l’oignon and pommes dauphines (small mashed potato pillows fried to creat a crisp shell. Served with a tasty smoked rosemary aioli.
Reservations are helpful as tables can fill quickly. We sat at the bar which is a cosy and comfortable spot.
A glass of 2019 Bordeaux was a perfect pairing.
Staff are helpful and knowledgeable.

We enjoyed dinner date with my partner and friends. Drinks and food are tasty, we found the frog legs and escargot quite small in portion but still quite delicious. Cozy and comfortable place, will be back for next time.

Really lovely experience here! All of the food was delicious — we had the onion soup, fried cauliflower, and the ribeye with the aligot, creamed spinach, and mushrooms. While the onion soup was the highlight of the night, the steak was also cooked perfectly and the sides that went with it were fantastic and flavorful. The restaurant itself also has such a nice ambience and they were playing great music. Would recommend!
